Monday June 5th - No School!

Monday, 5th: Parkinson exercises. Meet Siyan at the library to give her boiled peanuts. Chatted with Nasha while girls looked for books.

Tuesday: AA had Dentist appointment at 3:00 p.m., all is fine with her teeth. I wen to RH happy hour, set up our hotdog cooker, not many people today, only about a dozen. Hugh/Maureen made potato salad, Kathy brought her semi-homemade baked beans. All good - took leftovers home for AA's dinner.

Wednesday, 7th: I continue to work and walk Ginger daily. AA went to PT. I went with Ford to his PCP Dr. Dolven - main issue was his back so getting a referral to a spine/back specialist, also spoke extensively about FM's Parkinson: a referral to UF for Movement Disorder DBS evaluation, referral for blood work/Quest, a change in his urinary tract prescription (changed from 1X to 2X daily), and recommended getting back with his dermatologist.
At the Baptist Hospital, added a butterfly with Addison K.'s name on it (green), for survivors.
Dinner at Pepper's with Penny R. Dinner was good, chatted about AA, golf, Penny's family, her recent trip to Wales (walking in her ancestors footprints, going to Wrexham, have two flights cancelled, etc.). {From April 2023: Ryan Reynolds' soccer team promoted to the English Football League. Reynolds and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney, who co-own the Wrexham team, lead the celebrations after watching their victory.}
AA read out loud the beginning of my library book, Brideshead Revisited, to me, with Ginger on her bed. A few laughs and I was nodding off! Mostly blurry pictures, these two move too fast!
Alyzabeth received a thank you email from Locks of Love and a certificate:
Thursday: Ford went to his Parkinson exercises. AA took a shower, a bit of a production, as she can only step into our shower, taking of brace, sitting on stool with leg raised on stool. We went to Hawkers Asian for lunch (AA had the Dan Dan) always yummy (and expensive), took a drive around Avondale/Riverside, we chatted, had several laughs about nothings!
Quiet afternoon, reading, napping, no dinner plans due to the late lunch (we all did eat some leftovers). We watched a Rick Steves show about Scotland/Highlands, then two games of RummiKub (AA won both). Scores from 2020 - 2023.
Friday: Our golf cart path pine tree removal began! Before pictures:
AA had PT at 10:30 (I walked and chatted with Mom on phone) then to Walmart for Ford's new prescription (muscle relaxant for his back). We drove to the St. Augustine Outlet shops, met with Marsha and Carl, shopped for shoes (AA bought a pair of New Balance). Then enjoyed a beer at Ancient City. Good times chatting and laughing about past stories that we didn't know about each other's kids (like sneaking out of the house and lying to parents, Justin and Sunshine, etc.). AA had to plug her ears a few times! Dinner at home was a variety of leftovers, mainly popcorn! We watched Jeopardy, and headed to bed by 8:30 - we were tired!
Leaa sent photos while at their NC cabin:
Saturday: Parkinson BINGO fund raiser, we donated, decided not to go. We drove to the RAM and walked around - probably was a bit much for AA and Ford's back has been hateful the past two weeks, so headed to Moon River for our always delicious salads and slice of pizza.
Sunday: Ford woke up with his continuing painful back, so AA and I went to church (Pastor Faith was not there, attending Florida and Alabama Methodist State Conferences). We had an easy lunch at home (leftover pizza, chicken tenders, store bought potato salad and slaw). We drove to Laureen Burke's home (on Colonial, off Retaw St/San Juan) for AA's first introduction to Spanish lessons. Laureen is enthusiastic and organized, gave AA several tasks to complete now (changing her phone to Spanish language, and Google to Spanish); plus listening to five Spanish Bands/songs over and over, etc. First virtual lesson is on Tuesday June 27th.
After a dinner of red beans and rice (made in the morning in crock-pot), AA beat me at a game of War! I had three Aces and somehow I lost!
Enjoyed seeing Andrew and Britney's success:
