Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday - Ginger went to Carolyn's home.
Alyzabeth has a rash on her abdomen and neck, Sent photos to Dr. Sacksteder (Nicole). Received a reply for her to stop antibiotic (which had already run out) and see a dermatologist.
Later Saturday:
AA stayed at hotel while we attended Dylan's "On Broadway" dance recital.
Pearl was in the 2:00 p.m. recital (younger students). Family photos:
Sunday: We didn't go to Grace UMC Church as read on Facebook they had a flea infestation! Ford and I went to a hot sauce store on Treasury Street, then picked up lunch at Cafe Eleven (11th St. - our hotel is on 7th St.). I walked 0.8 mile around the hotel/A1A/beach, very nice walking. AA's neck looks worse, but no itching (like her legs and arms).
Parked in the Baptist lot, walked by Grace UMC.
Hot sauces:
My Café Eleven turkey, cheese, apple, cranberry panini.
After a quiet time, we went to Publix to pick up salad, flowers, garlic bread and beer and drove to Marsha's/Carl.
We made a bit of fun with Tristen in the family photo - so booted him out!
With Tristen:
Without Tristen:
Monday: Memorial Day - we packed up the room and drove home.
Drove to Carolyn's, (listening to XR radio's 100 top Beatles song count down!) bought Chicken Chick Salad sandwiches, picked up Ginger. Alex was cutting down a very old, large Norfolk tree for Cr. We visited then drove home. Chores and relaxing!
Memorial Day:
Back home, dinner with homegrown peppers:

May 22 Monday

Monday, 22nd: Ford went to his exercise session (with a summer rain shower this morning). Ginger to groomers (photo before groomers). AA to PT at 2:30 p.m. Pork tacos for dinner. AA is winding down the school week, with a Spanish test today, then finals in Spanish and Chemistry.
Tuesday: Donna cleaned our home. Ford and I had haircuts with Steve Hayes. River House renewal party which included our dinner. AA made a bookmark (one practice one too) for David's birthday (he likes origami).
Wednesday: (24th) AA has early school dismissal for three days. We met Charlie and Donna Perry for breakfast at OP Cracker Barrel, chatted mainly about UMC disaffiliating (includes Middleburg, GCS and OPUMC). Brunch was very filling (brought home chicken and French toast for AA - after school lunch), then stopped at Suburban where our very dead FORD-150 truck is resting, removed all of Justin's possessions.
Another rainy day - we are soaked but definitely need the rain!
AA to PT at 2:15 p.m. then to "No-Weigh" at Sweet Frog! Yum! I baked a batch of double bran muffins, will take some to the hotel this weekend.
Thursday: Joy called in the morning while I worked, she is back in Florida. Ford went to his Parkinson exercises and then to the DBS session with lunch (very knowledgeable Alaine Keebaugh - will contact her when Ford decides to start the process).
Enjoyed the deck with Ginger:
AA had her hair cut, donating 10 inches to Locks of Love (separate post). It has been beautiful weather, very strong breezes so went to the River House, then back home for Bruschetta for dinner.
Friday: Last day of school!! AA and Siyan went to lunch at V's Pizza (separate post with AA's haircut). I took a "retiree" nap while AA played a video game, then made a new recipe of chocolate/banana muffins - they are okay - too much banana flavor for me.
Saturday: Took Ginger to Carolyn's. Drove to St. Augustine, checked into hotel. Had a sandwich from Obi Filling Station (got the wrong sandwich! Ordered a Club, got a burger with fired egg!). Went to Dylan's dance show. Separate Weekend post.
Sunday: We woke up early in the hotel (Courtyard by Marriott/A1A). Ford and I went to Hot Sauce store on Treasury street, then picked up three sandwiches from Cafe Eleven. Made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner at Marsha's. Picked up garlic bread and salad kits.
Monday: Memorial Day! Decided to leave a day early. Was very cold until Sunday afternoon so no pool time for me, and very boring for AA, which we knew was most likely. Drove home, got Ginger and relaxed (after two loads of wash, watering all the plants, walking Ginger and showering).

May 25th and 26th Hair Cut Plus Last Day of School!

Hair cut on 25th: Alyzabeth decided a few weeks ago to donate her hair to #locksoflove in Ian's memory. Hair Studio (Orange Park) Ms. Tia did the cutting honors yesterday and styled her hair. Now to let it grow out again for her golfing ponytail this Fall. #RiseUp #IansArmy. Final style (with textured ends):

Monday May 15th - 21st

Monday: AA's Sophomore Awards Ceremony. Separate post.
PT at 2:30, then doctor's appointment after with Dr. Sacksteder. Her wound is healing except one spot that has pulled apart slightly - new steri-strips added, back to the doctor in two weeks (also small bumps on her skin to watch).
AA had a tutoring session with Ms. Laurie, ready for a pre-calculus test tomorrow (she scored average - ended with an 89 for the year). Bruschetta for dinner, then the semi-finals of the Voice.
Tuesday: Visited with Larry Bradley. Made homemade sloppy joe with home grown peppers.
RH Happy Hour with Erin, didn't bring snacks as they were going to dinner at the Club. Hugh gave me a basil plant and I gave him a mint plant - plant swap! Warm but still beautiful weather on the deck!
Basil plant repotted:
Wednesday: I didn't sleep well, so found a new TV Netflix show - Transatlantic, pretty good.
Worked in morning, then bought pots for new pepper plants and basil plant given to me by Hugh/Maureen. I cooked a pork roast for tacos - will last for about 8 meals!
Thursday: I worked until 10:45 a.m. while Ford went to his exercises. We ate a light/leftover lunch. AA had PT at 2:30 p.m. and we were concerned with her skin that is not healing, so Lisa called the Doctor/Assistant Nicole Stephens and an antibiotic prescription and lots of probiotics were bought! Hope her infection is managed in a few days (redness below the steri-strips).
Probiotic children chews plus lots of yogurt!
Watched Transatlantic with FM and AA - the first two episodes.
Friday: Ford did the grocery shopping, ingredients needed to make meatballs (for next weekend). I worked, then we went to Lola's Burrito and Burger (King Street) for lunch - I had the shrimp burrito w/o the tortilla; Ford tried the Big Piggy Burger (brought half home). May not go back, loved Yucca fries (half order), food average but service was excellent - $50 a bit high for lunch (no alcoholic drinks).
Justin was able to get a tow-truck, the Ford-150 is now at Suburban for diagnosing. Jesse played at St. Augustine's downtown Oaks Park, we decided not to go, would be hard for AA on crutches. Ford and I made the meatballs - over 70 of them! Dinner was pizza and salad! We watched some of the FIHS graduation on YouTube.
Saturday: I went shopping with Carolyn at BJ's, stocked up on dish washing Dawn, laundry detergent, toothpaste, sugar, grapes, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, etc. and dumplings/potstickers (two bags for Leaa/Liv). Home for leftovers at lunchtime.
AA took a shower (a production getting her ready and in). After Happy Hour at CC (hot, noisy and no red ale!!), home for sloppy joe dinner.
Sunday: We attended the FIUMC Church service, good to see several families from our almost 20 years there (then going to the OPUMC). We just heard that the GCSUMC and OPUMC voted to disaffiliate from the "United" Methodist organization.
We sent photos of AA's knee to Dr. Sacksteder, he called back and said it looked better, will watch for a few more days while she is on antibiotics.
Ford smoked ribs on the grill, with a salad for dinner. A very heavy thunderstorm blew through for a couple of hours, so dragged our plants up against the house for protection. We watched the final two episodes of Transatlantic, good Netflix TV series. My first blueberry this year!
More peppers from the small plant I put (with flowers) out front, added to our dinner salad.
