The Drive Chip and Putt was Wednesday, June 23rd.
AA DCP first place:
Thursday and Friday was the First Coast Women's Tournament, Katelyn Schroeder won.
AA did okay the first day and was hoping to play a little better the second day which didn't happen.
With Coach Bryan:
Saturday morning we went "back to school" clothes shopping at Kohl's. AA was still wearing clothes from 5th and 6th grade. We didn't buy anything in the past year, so some catching up.
We had a small Father's Day Celebration (since I was in Maine the week before, AA and I didn't get to work on our plan for Ford).

Phil Smith died (SJRPP mechanic, wife Brenda), funeral on 06/26/21.

Amish bread, yummy but too much work!
Enjoyed watching the EH PGA Jr. Team match on Hole 10 while walking Ginger:
Gassed up truck for Ford (I rarely do this!):
And we met up with Hugh and Maureen for our usual RH happy hour. Appetizer: lemon/goat cheese stuffed celery:
Sunday morning, Ford and AA drove to Mission Inn for the Notah Begay Tournament!

From Jack's recap:
The 3rd leg of the “Race to the Junior Players” started today as the NFJG Tour stops at Jax Beach Golf Club for the Jax Beach Junior Open. The course is in wonderful condition with the greens rolling pure and the fairways plush. The weather was perfect with a little breeze and an overcast sky.
In the Elite Tour Girls division, a regular with the NFJG sits atop of the leaderboard as Alyzabeth Morgan of Fleming Island, FL who shot a 3 over par 74 in today’s round. Morgan’s round included two 2’s on the card as she birdied 2 par 3’s. She will take a one-stroke lead heading into the final round over Nancy Cox of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL who shot a 4 over par 75. Rounding out the top three in the Elite Tour Girls division is Ashlan Tresca of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL who shot a 5 over par 77.
Round2:
The final round of the Jax Beach Junior Open wrapped up today on the beautiful Jacksonville Beach Golf Club. We almost got everyone in, but mother nature had its own say as our Overall and Rising Tour Boys competitions had to be shortened to 27 holes.

In the Elite Tour Girls division, we had a first-time winner on the North Florida Junior Players tour with Nancy Cox of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL taking the title. She would shoot rounds of 75-74 to win the girls overall and the Elite Tour Girls. Finishing in second place right behind Cox was Alyzabeth Morgan who shot a two-day total of 153. This was Morgan’s 5th top 3 finish on the North Florida Junior Players Tour this year. Rounding out the top 3 was Kenzie Heba who shot a two-round total of 154.

Maine Trip

I spent Sunday - Tuesday with Terri, then Melissa came to her house and stayed through Thursday afternoon.
We wrote a couple of FB messages (on prior post).
George's peach tree:
My first morning (Sunday), Melissa and I did a nice paddleboard around the upper lake.
Blueberry bush by the shore:
When I arrived back at Mom's/camp on Tuesday, we went out for dinner at Day's seafood on Route 1 near Yarmouth/Freeport.
Wednesday Mom and I picked up the ordered food trays and spent the day at Terri's after the cemetery service (see post on George's service).
Thursday, was quiet, Melissa arrived in time for us to go to the LSL Ladies group (separate post). Then I was off to the airport Friday morning.

Training with Kyle

Alyzabeth and Ford met with Kyle on Friday, June 11th and will meet again on June 18th.
From Ford: Sounds good. We would do the 10 package plan. Alyzabeth is playing at Ormond Beach this Wednesday. If you are around Eagle Harbor this Friday just text and we can meet up.

No worries at all - glad to hear back from you! I definitely understand the schedule needing to change regularly - some of my kids are set in stone, and then the others are very fluid on a week to week basis.
As for the financial side, it’s typically $65/hr for a juniors, or $55/ea if 10 are purchased as a package. Whichever one makes more sense for y’all is fine by me! The first 2-3 times I see her, we’ll focus strictly on the hips, core, and movement mechanics, and then I’ll also give her some homework exercises to do on her own another 2x a week (15-20min worth or so).
If I can answer any more questions please let me know! It’s looking like I’ll be in the eagle harbor area Wednesday’s, some Fridays, and then as needed/when schedule permits.

Greetings Kyle,
First, my apologies for a delayed response. We would like to thank you for the physical evaluation you did with Alyzabeth linked to her potential golf game improvement.
We would very much like to move forward with the physical conditioning program you have mapped out for Alyzabeth. We would need to know our financial obligation to make the final decision.
June and July do present time restraints. June is filled with tournaments and we will be out of state most of July. We trust you are more than familiar with working out schedules with similar difficulties.
In closing, it should be noted, you do come highly respected and recommended by her coach, Bryan Kipnis, whom we have placed our trust in working with Alyzabeth. With that said, please know we are under no grand illusion of Alyzabeth playing on the LPGA Tour however we do want to give her every opportunity to meet her greater expectations.
Thank you again for the excellent physical evaluation. Very much appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Ford!
It was nice getting to meet you and Alyzabeth on Friday. I’m going to highlight some of the items needing correction from the assessment, and then explain what my approach to everything would be.

She had some limitation in her pelvic tilt - important for getting into efficient golf posture.
Had some tightness in her lats shoulders - prevents full range of motion in backswing and follow through. Left leg balance wasn’t as strong as right (she fell).
Both left and right side glutes showed weakness - they are very important because they help with balance, power, stability, and many other things in the golf swing. Ankle mobility was limited - prevents her from getting in proper squat form. Hip mobility difference between two sides - can lead to pain down the road. Plank test showed one side of core was stronger than the other the squat we saw had many imperfections.
Her club head speed was in low-mid 80s (We could have that in the 90s by end of summer)
Vertical 13.6”.
A lot of these are very normal for the age, but there are a few things I’d address first. The squat technique needs some help - id work on form, strengthening hip flexors, work on hip mobility, and strengthen the glutes. As a whole, my approach is mobility and injury prevention first, then strength, and then speed/power.
If training is something you are interested in, we have a quite few different ways we can do it - in person, virtual, partner, small group, in your home, at the course, etc.. if you’d like to discuss further, let me know!

Thank you,

Little Sebago Lake Ladies Thursday's Social

Melissa invited me to the Thursday's Ladies LSL gathering. We enjoyed a boat ride to Shirley McIntosh (8 Aquila Rd. The Lodges or by boat Hayden Bay), drank champagne, others brought beer, Jello shots and other beverages. They recently began sharing food again, so a potluck appetizers were spread over a long table. Crazy ladies on the ride home! Singing and dancing on Sue Holloran's large pontoon boat.
