Dog Food Drop Off!

The Safe Animal Shelter staff were very kind, extremely helpful unloading the 512 pounds of dog food and took AA's picture with issuing many "thank-you's". This was 64 pounds more than 2019. Donations went to:

Lovely Alyzabeth celebrated her 14th birthday and donated all her gifts to our shelter! Thank you for your kindness and selflessness! {correction, she did not donate all her birthday gifts}

New Recipe: Pumpkin Ginger Molasses Cookie Recipe

I searched for a ginger snap type recipe which includes pumpkin (from Maine). This recipe is good, just would flatten the round balls (coated in sugar) so that they may be crisper around the edges.

Weekend Fun - WIth COVID19 Still Hanging Around

Sunday: Golf, rain, Enola Holmes movie and chili for dinner.

Final day of displaying AA's gifts and we purchased our bags of dog food (AA and us) plus one from Nana Ann, Melissa and Terri.

Monday: Yesterday, it rained over 4 inches! We are soaked again! I made a new breakfast recipe from the Kitchn, acorn squash with egg:

AA School while I went to work due to the heavy rainfall. I arrived home in time to make my ladies informal golf practice group. We enjoyed chatting, putting, chipping and a quick visit by Coach Stephanie. Mary, Joy, Kitty and myself. AA had a 5 p.m. golf lesson. More light rain today and a meatless Monday with Bruschetta. Yum! We wished Leaa a happy birthday over the phone and texting. 

Tuesday - Saturday!

Tuesday was still a breezy day, so nice having the lower temperature. AA did school work, then golfed with Tyler Mawhinney and Dad Joe. I walked Ginger once I got home. Delicious dinner of bruschetta and a glass of wine.

Wednesday, AA was still golf practicing when I arrived home, so met Ford at Talon's for some wine on the patio. Not very cool today, but at least only mid-80's.

Thursday, I slept over at Carolyn's home, cooked shrimp with smoked tuna dip (and tried a new gluten free pita chip with it). Plan was to make a salad but we were too full. Her pool temperature was 79!! So we did not jump in. And a glass of wine! 

Friday, after school AA had a lesson then golfed with Tyler Mawhinney. I arrived home and for the second time this week, met Ford at Talon's patio for wine (and dinner take-out). They didn't have power for five hours (Clay Electric customers only) so didn't make a plan for dinner.

AA received money from my Mom for dog food donations. We will shop this weekend as we need to buy our donation.

Saturday, I had my final (make-up) Golf 201 class with the most recent Golf 101 make-up class. I met three more ladies all trying to learn the game. Sandy, Cindy and Mary (lives in Magnolia Point). Ford went to the grocery and made a new chili recipe (just didn't taste like "chili"). AA played 18 holes with Stephanie and her Husband Adam. A bit hot, around 90 degrees with a slight breeze in the shade. But still HOT!

We did our usual ZOOM happy hour with Hugh, Maureen and Kathy. Less talk about politics as it just gets frustrating, hateful and nothing we can do until time to vote. Then we watched the end of Mulan, very good movie.

More ugly politics this week with Trump's Supreme Court nominee. She's (Amy Barrett) so anti-women, I couldn't think of a worse candidate (and I thought Kavanaugh was horrible!). We are sticking with Biden, please may he do well during the debates!

SURPRISE!! From the Bailey's and Collins'

What a nice surprise, to make AA's birthday celebrations last a little longer and so sweet! The Bailey's and Collins' surprised AA with more reasons to celebrate! Sushi dinner and a birthday cake! AA was able to see a few of her friends and chat in the driveway (Tyler (curly longer hair), Dylan and Ian).

Parents Erin C. and Shannon/David were so sweet to coordinate. They let us know the day before and we were able to keep it a surprise. After AA's golf lesson, which ended on time (usually goes way over, but Coach had a HS golf match), so we had to stall from 6:00 p.m. until their arrival at 6:45 p.m. We managed by walking Ginger, opening some gifts (from Mel and Terri) and checking the weather outside - very gusty up to 40 mph!! Happy 14th to AA!

Happy Birthday to AA - Wrap Up - Plus one more day of RAIN!

Monday: Strong gusts of wind with rain sprinkles, somehow the land is drying up a little today. Sunshine with a breeze expected for next few days. AA attended school, took one quiz and passed two virtual teacher audio tests in her CVA classes. Golf lesson at 5:00 p.m. with Bryan and I even practiced.

Happy Birthday to AA! #14!

We are so proud of our wonderful daughter and today we celebrate her focus, success and love of family!

We homemade blueberry muffins (AA did most the work) for breakfast and cooked hash browns (store bought, frozen).

AA opened her gifts in the morning. The weather is cooler but still RAINING!!!

Ginger always by her side:

We drove to the St. Augustine Outlet Shops to get AA a few new clothes. AA tried on clothes at the American Eagle store (nothing fit) and the Banana Republic (bought two tops and white jean shorts).

Then on to the Ancient City Brewery, arrived a little before 1:30 p.m., ordered a beer and the rain stopped! We were so lucky yesterday and today that the rain stopped just as we were holding our "distance dog food drop off meet and greet six feet apart"! Cara and Marsha dropped by first, chatted for 15 minutes then they were off to run errands.

A bit slow at times for AA since she's not drinking beer (and talking across picnic tables is a challenge).

Cathy and Werner sat at a separate table, such a breezy nice day for a meet up. The cooler weather came just in time!

Happy Birthday to AA! Not a party, best we could do AND love all the donated dog food - as of today, 379 pounds. We have ours to buy plus a few more friends are dropping off this week. We will beat last years number, thank you all! Second Ice Cream Cake:
