Friday, March 31st - No School!

AA drove to Leaa's home on the chance we could meet up with her and take the dogs to the beach.  She was at the High School and Jesse was giving lessons, so Ginger met Dolly in their backyard, then we went to the beach.
Quick potty break before arriving at Leaa's - Ginger did not cooperate! Too many new scents/smells!
At Leaa's home/backyard with Dolly:
Dolly was crazy, running around, sniffing Ginger, while Ginger tried to ignore her!
At the beach, just past low tide, Ginger seemed to enjoy getting her paws wet:
Lunch, ate in our car as we had Ginger with us:
It was a good day of unplanned surprises. AA drove both ways so logged three more hours.

March 20th First Day of Spring!

Monday: Spring is here - with the weather being a bit cool and windy. Later in the week we were back in the 80's. AA is off from school with no plans except to get back to a routine, rest and finish recovering from our vacation. Ford went to his exercises. I worked, trying to catch up from last week (on vacation and had migraine), made corned beef and cabbage, had it for dinner two nights, we love the potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage meal. AA went to renew her passport - our appointment was at 2:00 p.m. and we were out of the post office at 2:08! Fast! Since she is "over age 16", her passport is good for ten years, not the five years for a minor. Hopefully she can go on her school AICE trip next year, travel to China and we all go to Ireland! We sent in our postcards to the Lost Kitchen, hoping for a reservation - we would need to fly up for the dinner (and I don't think kids can come so AA would need to stay at my Mom's house). Not sure how many seats we would request, and who to invite - too many choices!

Bought a new K-cup coffee machine - just like my Mom's old one except ours is quieter!
Tuesday: Back to school! Donna came and cleaned, I worked at the library, Ginger went to the groomers.
Wednesday: I had my six-month dental cleaning. All good with Dr. Curt Standish. Ford and I ate leftover corned beef and veggies for lunch, and planned our meatless meal of bruschetta for dinner.
Thursday: Ford and I both woke up after sleeping the entire night. We are so happy, Ford has been having nightmares, hallucinations, sudden movements (all from Parkinson's) so we rarely sleep through the night. I convinced him to take half a dose of NyQuil to see if it had a calming, which it did!
Billy came and pressure washed the house and dug out ten bushes in our front yard. Now ready for me to weed and mulch.
AA's MRI on her left knee. Ford cooked salmon for dinner and I sent three items for Rhonda Gibbs' request for Easter basket donations.
Friday: Ford and I got hair cuts/color; I needed it! Worked as usual, AA came home and started on her homework.
Saturday: Carolyn is camping with Alex, so we went to her house to feed the critters (including a new rabbit now!).
AA and I went to the RAM market for some veggies, then to Moon River for lunch.
Moon River for lunch:
River House happy hour, I made deviled eggs. Hugh and Maureen brought grandson Tim and wife (from Brazil, an Architect).
Sunday: Kayak was postponed, too windy/stormy. AA's tutoring with Laurie was postponed until Monday evening. We watched Sanditon together, the show is in the final season and with only four episodes remaining, so many HEA's to achieve!

Post Maine Trip Saturday/Sunday

During our trip, AA received a sad message: The passing of AICE sophomore Ana Chiang - Funeral arrangements for Ana will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 am.  It will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 461 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL. (next to OPHS).
Saturday evening: Ford made ribs so we ate them for our lunch (late, about 2 pm), we were starved! And after unpacking, started laundry, took showers, and relaxed while jabbering about our trip and hearing what Ford did in our absence (two doctor's appointments, lunch with Leaa at Talons, visited Justin, had truck bed cover installed, got new battery put in my watch, watered new orange tree daily, walked Ginger daily, made himself a fried fish dinner, called Marty, cleaned out several areas of our MB closet, bought waterproof phone holders for when we are in the kayaks, sorted through lots of old electronics and laptops, ran the golf cart, errands, etc.!!). He did go to one River House Happy Hour too!

Boston - Friday

Friday: After a good nights sleep, I bought a coffee and yogurt while AA ate her dinner leftovers for breakfast.
Sunrise from our room:
We walked to North Station, bought a day pass (after asking for help) and caught the "T" to JFK Library.
After the library, we took the T to Chinatown and ate "Dim Sum" at the Empire Garden Restaurant (Ford and I ate there around 2006 or 2007, recommended by Tina Piper). AA wasn't impressed by the selection so ordered off menu, chicken curry (was very mild with pineapple chunks and green bell peppers). She did like the steamed pork buns, while I enjoyed dumpling soup (shrimp), fried shrimp wontons and shrimp dumplings. I thought I was getting something vegetarian but must have missed the explanations, we did have a person who spoke English but didn't really have patience for me! Several other non-Asian customers came in, and only non-Asian's had soy sauce at their tables (I asked for a hot sauce too which was good).
After lunch (it was after 3 pm) we walked back to the hotel and rested, ended up eating leftovers for dinner (used the shared microwave at the front desk store).
Eating leftovers and more cannoli's!
We watched terrible TV shows and slept well until the alarm at 6:05 a.m.!
Saturday: Time to catch our cab to Logan airport. We made excellent time, arriving at our gate just 25 minutes since leaving the hotel (drug sniffing dog and my Bakewell baking powder warranted a luggage search!). Flew back to (JAX) Fleming Island - Ford picked us up at the curb and we were so happy to see him!
