Another great junior golf tournament season has officially come to an end and the juniors now move on to compete in high school golf in hopes of making it to STATES and to college as they set their path for the future. The last event of the season is the “Banquet Outing – nine holes on the Stadium Course followed by the “Annual Awards Banquet” where the members, NFJG Foundation Board of Directors, staff, partners and invited guests gather to recognize the accomplishments of so many deserving juniors.
In all, twenty-seven junior players received forty-five awards at this year’s awards celebration with Player of the Year Award winners Alyzabeth Morgan and Cameron Reed receiving six and five awards respectively for their outstanding seasons. Player of the Year Ambrose Kinnare hailing from the WGV King and Bear won eleven times this season and Eagle Harbor’s Alyzabeth Morgan won four times. Jaspreet Kondal, the smooth swinging lefty from St. Johns Golf and Country Club won seven times on tour this season and took home multiple awards in company with Player of the Year Stella Moritz, Brock Wilson, Sawyer Cook, Barton Abstein and Noa Bridges.
Our guest speaker, Dr. Bob Winters blew us away with a powerful and eye-opening presentation and statement on the power of “Believe.” PGATOUR Professional and NFJG Foundation Ambassador Russell Knox was on hand for this year’s banquet and provided keen advice on preparing for and focus of playing, being patient, picking yourself up after a bad shot and above all being respectful to one another.
Six juniors (Tommy Piper, Jack Hardy, Anabelle Mozingo, Sarah Harpster, Thomas Cush, and Alanis Santiago) were acknowledged for receiving scholarships this year. All who are already deep into the books at their respective houses of learning. Ms. Yulee, Amelia Santiago read a letter of thanks written by her sister Alanis to the audience of 160 people.

Loved that Russell Know took time to be at the banquet and speak about four important things of golf (being honest, be on time, surround with people with your best interest and listen to them).
