Week of August 22nd - Rainy Afternoons

Monday, I grocery shopped, made two spaghetti pies, one for Hugh and Maureen; one for our dinner. I took the pie to Hugh's home and they let me in for a visit, first time I have seen them since their PA family reunion trip, Maureen is still recovering from pneumonia and has congestive heart failure.
Bruschetta for dinner on Tuesday.
Wednesday, we were at the NFJG Awards (separate post) so no cooking for us. I am working 10 hours per week, so have better flexibility on when I run errands. Separate post about AA's two FIHS golf matches.
Thursday: I had my hair colored, trimmed, long over due! Truck had its oil change (and warned that next time, will need new rear brakes).
Ford cooked salmon and asparagus.
A nice photo from Melissa's LSL ladies meet-up:
Friday: I shopped AGAIN at Publix, bought shrimp, dinner was fettuccini with shrimp, garlic, cream, sundried tomatoes and spinach. Very good! AA did tons of homework (all weekend).
Saturday: I attended Steve Siegrist's funeral service. Spoke with Bill Hiers, Roger Michael, George Jarnukowski, Len Martin, Charles McDonald, Charlie Newton, Mike Key.
AA had a golf lesson with Coach Bryan (AA drove the car both ways). We went to the River House, I made a batch of corn dip for the weekend so took some of that. Actually was bearable sitting outside.
Sunday: Made a large batch of chili in the slow-cooker for dinner and to freeze. I also baked popovers and they did not "pop" - looked like mini-muffins, they did taste good, will need to find a different recipe!
Went to Carolyn's, took Publix subs for lunch, swam in pool. Tyler has decided to go back to Maine to help his Dad for a few months (hand surgery, furniture building), will leave after Labor Day.
Adding salt to her pool.
Having a laugh together:
This week continues to have daily pop-up rain showers, some quite stormy, but not enough rain consistently over all NE Florida, still have very low water in ponds. Hope to have some tropical storms soon so can recharge our water supplies.
