Tuesday: Last day in DC, a nice cup of coffee at the corner café to start our day:
We went to the Museum of Natural History to shop for gifts, and looked at the Hope Diamond. Then to the Museum of Art and the sculpture garden. We ate lunch at the outdoor café there, salads were delicious. The garden:
Then we went to the National Archives and saw the actual documents Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. We could have spent an entire day in each of them. As we were leaving, the rain was slowly moving in.
We relaxed at the hotel, then went to Marshall's to shop and bought clothes. Dinner was at the hotel bar, charcutiers board, beef tacos and wedge salad. I indulged myself with two glasses of Malbec wine (they were a very small pours at $14 each!). As we were leaving, Terri got on the "down" escalator to have a smoke and once she realized she was already on the correct floor, she jumped/skipped back up the down escalator! We cracked up laughing!
Wednesday - Fly home to Fleming Island! We treated ourselves to a full breakfast in the J.W. Marriott hotel restaurant. Then off in a cab to the airport!
