Monday: Errands and work. AA golf lesson at 3:00 p.m. We received a letter from Auntie Jean and two masks.
I wrapped up shrimp peelers for guy birthday gifts (Jordan, Jesse and Werner):
Shannon and Ian Bailey stopped by to give AA a CNY gift of a red envelop, money, apples and candy! So sweet! She also gave us an update on Ian's treatment and the scan on 2/14/22 (if it shows cancer, he is bumped out of this clinic's trial).
Tuesday: Working each day. Made chicken gravy, ate the roasted/brined chicken for dinner again. Ford made banana pudding for the neighbors (Joe Powers, David and Nancy Coats and Bill Tyrie). Happy Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year)!
We went to the River House, too cold for the others to go. We sat alone in the covered porch area; took deviled eggs for our snack/appetizer:
I also made collard greens for the second time, used bacon since didn't buy the salt pork/smoked meat:
Wednesday: Working from home in the morning, went to Sweet Sensations for lunch (ate half, plus picked up a sandwich for AA, so not cooking tonight!) and walked the GCS dock. Warmed up the collard greens for our side veggie. AA golfed for two hours, lovely weather, about 68 degrees.
It was announced on January 10th, and now the award ceremony has occurred at Deerwood Golf: A big thank you to our Screaming Eagles families! Today Coach Stephanie and I were recognized by the North Florida PGA. Coach Stephanie earned Player of the Year and I earned the Youth Player Development Award. Thank you everyone for your support! We look forward to an amazing 2022!
Today was a great day! I was recognized by my peers in the North Florida PGA and awarded the Youth Player Development Award. Thanks to my wife Ceci MK for putting up with all the late evenings at the course. — at Deerwood Country Club.
Ford's comment: fm - Congratulations Bryan. Thank you CC for sharing Bryan with us. He puts in the time. He puts in the work. All to benefit our young golfers. Their futures and the future of golf.
Thursday: Warming, beautiful weather. We took a boys bike to the Bailey's and dropped off three red envelops. Then had happy hour at the River House with Kathy.
Friday: Another gorgeous day! First up was the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics in China. Worked at home as usual, AA at school, Spanish quiz. After school, took AA and Siyan Donaldson to Maggie's Ice Cream, 82 degrees outside! She cannot have any dairy but luckily, Maggie's does have a few to choose from. Alyzabeth ordered her favorite - mint chocolate chip! I made potato salad for tomorrow's happy hour; Ford cooked hamburgers after AA golfed at the practice range for two hours.
Potato salad - tons!
We texted Cathy and Werner as we wanted to stop by on our drive home to give Werner a small birthday gift (shrimp peeler/deveiner). We bought them a cabbage and gave them half my kale. We bought peppers, cucumbers, cabbage, kale and tomatoes. Lots of kale, broccoli and brussels sprouts (we skipped on them!).
Hosted the happy hour at our home with cooked hotdogs. Hugh took two of our tomatoes to try, he eats one every morning. Enjoyed our chats with Kathy, Maureen and Hugh. AA kept the dog quiet and joined us for a short time.
Card from the group (pun on hotdog!): "Franks a lot.... for being so wienerful"!
Sunday: Separate post on the SJGCC NFJG Tournament. Wet and cold and windy - again!I cooked orange chicken in the slow-cooker, with rice and a new salad recipe (grilled corn, peppers plus avocado salad dressing). Plus usual chores, taking out Ginger, laundry, updating this blog, some correspondence, plus my daily 25 push ups; a pretty full day!
