For the fourth event in a row it was a chilly and windy day as the tour teed it up at St. Johns Golf and Country Club for the annual “St. Johns Classic”. At times the rain and mist were flying straight sideways almost looking like it were snow.  Some say it was, but I’m sure that was caused by brain freeze as many supporting family members watch their youngest navigate the course through the blustery weather.

In our Elite Tour Girls Division Ponte Vedra Beaches Lauren Barned would conquer the division of talented ladies by firing a great round of 73.  Her low round this season. The outstanding round of one over par earned her her second Gold Medal of the season. Barned would capture two birdies on the day on her way to a six shot victory over Fleming Islands Alyzabeth Morgan (79p). Morgan would come in tie with Jacksonville’s Sahana Chokshi and would win the Silver Medal in a scorecard playoff. Chokshi would win Bronze for her first medal of the season.
