AA played in the two-day NFJG King and Bear Elite Girls Tournament. Very cold both days in the morning, was in the 60's by afternoon. AA said she played poorly during round 1 and was still the leader going into round 2 on Sunday. Most likely when she sunk a long putt on Hole 9, then birdied Hole 11, her confidence must have had a boost. She had a 34 (below par) for the back nine holes on Sunday, great round!

Director Jack's News/Recap:
The first day of the King and Bear Open brought a true test to our players. Cooler temperatures, tough pin placements and gusting winds made it a difficult day for many of the juniors.
For the Overall Girls it is a tight race. Leading the pack is Fleming Islands Alyzabeth Morgan (80). Nipping at her heels, all tied shooting rounds of 82 are Danielle Dailey, Maddie Campbell, Georgia Blount and Alexa Fallis.
Round two would start out with weather conditions like that of the opening round, but with the field flipped and the girls hitting the tee box first.
In the Elite Tour Girls none of the girls tied at the top after the first round would contend for the lead. Instead, it would be the proven champion from Fleming Island who would bust loose to fire a two over par 74 to claim victory. Yes, it was none other than Fleming Islands Alyzabeth Morgan climbing her way to the top of the leaderboard. St. Augustine’s Sofia Rivera would also fight her way to the top by posting a three over par round of 75 to best her first-round score of 84 by nine strokes. Rivera would claim rights to the Runner-up award. Morgan would earn one AJGA PBE Star and one FJT Exemption for her fine play.
