Monday, April 26th + NFJG Sat/Sun at SJGC

Monday: I made another favorite slow-cooker meal: Asian Orange Chicken over rice. AA and I went for our short bike ride (2 miles - takes about 10 minutes).
We went to our now routine Monday happy hour at the River House. Beautiful weather, windy but still decided to sit on the deck over the river. I will be sad when it is too hot to sit outside. We will probably sit inside only if no one else is inside, otherwise not sure what our plan will be. Ford on porch, then decided to sit on the deck.
The bartender, Belinda caught a red fish, and after much consideration, released it back to the river to be caught again!
AA had her usual/scheduled golf lesson at 4:00 p.m. so did not go to the RH with us.
Tuesday: I worked at the NGS office, then went to my monthly hair coloring after work. Ford delivered the "birthday/sprinkle" cheesecake to Leaa's for Liv's birthday, plus balloons, candles, whipped cream (in a can) and gift of money. Leaa sent this photo once Liv arrived home (at 8:00 p.m.):
Liv's text:
Wednesday: Working at home and enjoying the beautiful weather, going to be high 80's until Friday, then clouds and scattered rain arriving. I made my biscuits (frozen butter and buttermilk recipe).
President Biden gave his 100 Days in Office speech, so nice to have a caring, educated, compassionate President!
Thursday: I worked at the NGS office. The Heck Electrician came and completed a few projects for us. It was Day 1 for the NFL Draft which was fun to watch, Jaguars selected
Round 1 (No. 1 overall) - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson; Round 1 (25, from Rams) - Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson: The Jags keep Etienne paired with Lawrence, his Clemson teammate for three years; Round 2 (33) - Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia; Round 2 (45, from Vikings) - Walker Little, OT, Stanford: Massive at 6-7 and 313 pounds, he's got all the talent in the world but suffered a torn ACL in 2019; Round 3 (65) - Andre Cisco, S, Syracuse: He had 12 INTs between the 2018 and 2019 seasons, but a torn ACL ruined the former all-ACC performer's final year with the Orange.
Friday: I worked from home, AA is in school (she finished her two CVA classes). She has to miss two NFJG tournaments due to one Saturday is the 8th Grade geometry State test review (which she took as a 7th grader, but still has to take the test this year) and another Saturday for the actual State test. Darn!
AA driving the golf cart to the edge of the course:
Saturday/Sunday: AA played in the two-day golf tournament at the St. Johns Golf Club (near CR207 - Not the newer St. Johns Golf and Country Club on CR210). Round 1 was 10 strokes (tied for 4th) and Round 2 was 4 strokes - good playing. Although, her first text to me was that "She could have played better". She finished in 4th place.

From Jack's News: In the Elite Tour Girls division, Ashley Huffman leads the way with an impressive 4 over par 75 while Lindsay McGrath from Cape Canaveral, FL sits right on her heels as she fired a 6 over par 77. Sitting just two shots back of Huffman. Rounding out the top 3 in the Elite Girls division is Nancy Cox who fired a 9 over par 80.
Round 2: In the Elite Tour Girls division, Ashley Huffman was in a strong position to defend her title from last year as she came into the day with a 2-shot lead over Lindsay McGrath of Oakville, Ontario Canada. Ashley would continue to hold her lead on the front 9 and then would be challenged on the back 9 by a charging Nancy Cox who shot 34 on the back side but would ultimately fall short of Huffman and finish in second place. Huffman would hold of the rest of the field to again win the title in the Elite Tour Girls with rounds of 75-76.
In the Rising Tour Boys division, Chase Ricks of Fleming Island, FL would come into the day with a 4-stroke lead over Luke Splane of St. Augustine, FL. Splane, after firing a solid round of 79 during the first round would not let the 4-shot deficit faze his game. He would make up that 4-shot deficit and would force Chase Ricks into a playoff for the title. The players tied the first playoff hole and then they went on to the par 5 second hole, where Luke Splane would win the hole and the Rising Tour Boys title.
Saturday, after they were home for about an hour and took showers, we headed to our usual happy hour with Hugh, Maureen and Kathy. Penny has not come back, not sure if she will. It is very low risk, we don't get close to anyone and sit on the outside deck. We enjoyed chatting with them as usual. Our bartender, Belinda's fishing rod and tackle was stolen, must have been an "inside job" as no one broke in (Update: It was all returned, caught on video so it was either that or the Club employee was going to be arrested).
During the day, at home, I did some unpacking in the garage and re-packing up stuff we have not used but do not want to discard. A total of 3.5 + 4 hours and I was sweaty and now have a sore back (lugging totes up to the garage attic). I also rearranged/cleaned out the laundry room, the cabinets and a few cabinets in the kitchen. Making progress, still have 14 boxes/totes to deal with in the garage. I am planning on "hiring" Tyler soon to help get most of them out on our driveway, then rearranging with what we want to keep back in the garage.
Sunday, I made a new recipe with chicken, zucchini, onion and canned diced tomatoes. Pretty good!
