Saturday - Sunday + NFJG Slammer and Squire 3rd Place

Saturday began with temperatures in the low 40's. Brrr! Ford and AA left for the Slammer and Squire golf tournament at 5:45 a.m.! She had an early tee time and it did not help her game. She scored high, a 92!! The best score was 13 over so all struggles a bit.

I stayed home on Saturday, wrapped gifts, put some ribbon on our tree, laundry, took a soaking bath (yeah me!), walked dog and drank lots of coffee! They brought home Tijuana Flats no-ritto bowls and chips, yum!

Sunday, they were off for an early tee time again (8:13 a.m.). I walked the dog, ordered some Christmas gifts on-line, shopped at Publix, made a batch of cherry biscotti (for gifting), spoke to my Mom for 40 minutes on the phone (they are without power for 1.5 days - running the generator).

AA played well, tied her best score of 73, 1+ over Par (2-birdies, 3-bogies). Very good round. Since Saturday's was so high, still not a very good tournament. Golf is like that, one day you're on top of the world feeling great and scoring low, then without really knowing what happened, you can have some horrible rounds when nothing goes well!! We are very happy she moved up to third place; played very well.

Jack's Newsletter: The Elite Tour girls featured group on the second day would include St. Johns’ Shanya Arasu, St. Augustine’s Helena Rios, and Middleburg’s Lexi Milbrandt. Arasu shooting an 85 the first day had the lead by one going into round two over Rios. Going into day two, Arasu and Rios both shot a pair of 75s giving Arasu the victory by one stroke. Fleming Island’s Alyzabeth Morgan would end up taking third place over Milbrandt by shooting an excellent one over par round of 73 and squeezed into top three. Nice playing!

Afterwards, Ford and AA picked up BBQ from Woodpeckers for our dinner. AA had a 2:50 p.m. tee time for the Ops36 Eagle Harbor program. She finished nine holes and won the most points leader - an Eagle Harbor Putter cover.

At dinner, every evening, AA reads the Advent Bible verse. Tonight's message about HOPE.
