End of November - First Week of December

Monday: A blustery day as the temperature dropped by afternoon. AA only putted as everything else was closed. Tuesday morning is expected to be near 34 degrees. Pictures from my baking biscotti on Sunday, both recipes had chopped pistachios, one with dried cherries, butter and vanilla; the second with dries cranberries, olive oil and almond flavoring. Both good!

We always ask AA about her day in school (isolated in our 3rd bedroom) and she talked about a new book they are reading in ELA, and her teacher asked all about their three wishes:  AA's three wishes were for everyone to get along, work together; 2nd remember everything I have done, gone through in the past, 3rd, the world to be a better place. She thinks very worldly and away from her. She didn't ask for money, fame or a perfect golf game. She asked for people to get along. Her friend Angel, asked for COVID to go away and for world peace.

Dinner was the "Cheaters Korean Beef Lettuce Wraps" made with fresh ginger, garlic, a sauce made with brown sugar, soy sauce, chili garlic paste plus green onions and sesame seeds. Delicious (a bit messy with the iceberg lettuce).

Tuesday: COLD! I worked two days this week. December 1st and Advent Calendar time! This year, each Bible passage is a link in a paper chain.

Wednesday, I worked and slept over Carolyn's home. We gabbed until bedtime after having hot tea and Ford's leftover chili and corn bread. In the morning, I asked her about one thing I could do for her that she hasn't found the time to do: she said about wanting to bake the pumpkin. So I roasted her large pumpkin, roasted the seeds too. Now she has plenty of pumpkin for baking.

Tea when she first arrived home - our second cold day this season!
Thursday, I came home with allergy or cold symptoms. With Carolyn's heat running all night and her cats, I somehow had a nasal attack! After some rest, fluids and a quiet day at home, all was good! We didn't cook, so got take-out from Talons, always love their Salmon-Kale "Power" salad. And AA had a surprise in the mail. Mom sent a cute gift to AA - a Christmas gnome!

Friday: The kitchen microwave mysteriously began working again! The electronics need to be replaced, but twice now, it mysteriously works for a day or two. So Ford is working all day making his peanut brittle - the recipe to be cooked to the right temperature needs a microwave with output of about 1100 watts. So the smaller one doesn't work. I weighed and packed 24 bags of his homemade candy!

Happy Ford - getting his brittle done!
Friday evening was Ford's pinto beans, cooked all day in the crock pot. Yummy! They are heading to a two-day NFJG golf tournament tomorrow morning - very early tee time!
