Great time at Carolyn's for a July 4th Independence Day celebration with a pool swim and lunch of hamburgers, pasta salad (made by AA), Brownies (made by AA and her Daddy), deviled eggs and Carolyn's grilled corn on the cob! The pool was perfect at 87 degrees; we had sun for the first hour, then clouds. When the thunder boomed, we got out of the pool!
Bella was barking like crazy and would try to grab your hand to drag you out of the pool (she's in the photo, near top, left)!AA and Ginger: Ginger was "forced" to put her paws in the water and settled for sitting on the top step. She was nervous but AA stayed with her so that she would cool off and maybe like the experience. Ginger loves water but will not jump in the pool. Next time, we need to throw a tennis ball in and see if she will jump in!
Grilled corn!
Ready to swim! The rain and thunderstorm came and went, about 1/2" of rain. We made it home in time to join Hugh's Zoom 5 p.m. Happy Hour. Kathy was missing as her son Ed was visiting. We chatted about politics, movies we had seen, AA's golfing, our stories from the past week, etc. Then the fireworks started! Amazing amount of professional looking fireworks over Doctor's Lake and the River, plus at least four homes in our surrounding street that set off nice ones (across the pond, over Hole 11 tee box, over Hole 1 and one across Lakeshore Drive). I wish I had taken a picture of the full moon, it was stunning! Last year we were at Hugh and Maureen's watching the Orange Park fireworks, but this year were cancelled due to COVID-19. Tomorrow is Ginger's 4th Birthday!
