Saturday October 19, 2024 HOCO was postponed due to Hurricane Milton.
We drove home from St. Augustine (Georgetown interview) and walked Ginger and then re-rolled Alyzabeth‘s hair in her curler that Leaa had given her, trying for a few curls. AA painted her fingernails blue. We had lunch of leftovers from dinner last night and the rest of the afternoon was a bit slow. We all rested and let Alyzabeth’s fingernails dry.
Alyzabeth said the picture taking at Spring Park, very cold, temperature was in the high 60's but the wind made it very chilly for the girls. The other parents took so many photos, we bowed out after about five poses and 15 minutes.
Caley Spearman, Aubry Taylor, Briggs Viner, Kevin Taing, Siyan Donaldson and AA:
After the photos in the park, they drove to the high school (she always asks why the dance is not at a real venue?). Kevin rode with AA. There was cotton candy but the line was very long and slow., also fried chicken, cookies. AA said the actual dance, no one danced for the first hours, standing around. Then when dancing started, AA was out in the mosh pit the rest of the time. The music wasn't great - too rappy, club-type music. She is not a fan of the entire experience. After, they drove to the iHop, the staff was not expecting so many kids, so service was slow.
