St. Augustine Airbnb - Part One - Friday

Friday, 08/02/24: Friday morning was gathering up all our items to pack in the truck and drive to our St. Augustine B&B. Alyzabeth got her things and Gingers doggy stuff and food ready, I went to the grocery store and picked up some items for our lunch on Saturday and got all our clothes and coolers packed in the truck by 2:15.

We drove to the Ancient City Brewery and bought 4-6 packs of beer then arrived at our B&B at four a little before 4 PM: Blue Heron Nest, 236 Villa Verda Road, Treasure Beach. A nice place, new interior, plus the "plunge Pool" and upper deck (over the boat lift).
We could not get the lock to open, so explored around the backside and went through an unlocked sliding glass.  I sent the owner a message and they resent a new code which did work.  We unloaded the truck in 98° heat, we were already sweaty from loading the truck in 100° heat at Fleming Island. We discovered in the kitchen, there are no empty cupboards to put our food in so will rearrange one in order to do that. Alyzabeth and I went to Publix to pick up some ice cream, ice and water and other drinks.  We ate Publix fried chicken and potato salad for dinner. The TV is a bit strange to us as there is no cable so everything is pay-per-view such as Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, etc. The pool is lovely. Marsha came over and called it a plunge pool.  Only problem is it shut off the pool pump/water flow in the evening. The entire home is very nice decorated nice. Everything is up-to-date and so far I have a few items on my critique list that I’ll send them later. A possible safety issue down by the bulkhead, another is they need a new coffee pot in the unit. They also could use a mat at the sliding door on the inside the house. There is one on the outside, but not on the inside.  Alyzabeth and I jumped in the pool and enjoyed it. The water was very warm of course but very nice pool. We took showers and then by 10 o’clock we were in bed while Alyzabeth studied her statistics.
Saturday: Everyone came over for panini sandwiches (over cooked some of them!) with pasta salad.
Had fun in the pool, great sunny day! There was some chatter about tattoos, Leaa said she might get hers refreshed (green apple). JK mentioned that Kilee's favorite Lightning McQueen (Cars movie), wants a tattoo but won’t get it. Justin wants to walk trail around coast of Scotland. Leaa wants to go to Liverpool, Paul McCarthy sites. Dylan would like green apple, or something with Gilmore Girls. We hung out inside, on the outside deck and picnic table, the front yard tire swing plus the ice cream truck (Jordan bought them all treats).
Group photo from boat lift upper deck taken by Marsha.
Ginger did not get in the pool!

We all had a good time!
