Visiting Maine - Week of July 22 & 23, 2024

Monday 22nd: Beautiful day, we sat around, paddled out on the lake to the little island, met up with Carol and Ray Walsh (with brother Artie) in their pontoon boat.

Nice breeze, keeping the day dry and sunny.
Milfoil boat with diver:
We ate sandwiches and chips, then a short sea-doo ride just into the middle lake. And more family visits - Sharon Redmond Grover, plus Chris with Anthony and Autumn. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, with salads.
Tuesday 23rdWe chatted with Terri early, she called about having a spike in her fever, temperature and nausea overnight. She was going to go to her doctor at 8 AM this morning to get checked out. We decided we would still drive to her house as she is babysitting Gloria‘s dog Lucy and we would let her out if by chance Terri was not back after a few hours. Terri was tested for the bacteria and found out she was negative after the doctor had prescribed the second antibiotic and she had gone to Belfast to pick it up. She has her follow up doctor appointment from her hospital visit this Thursday and has decided to continue taking both antibiotics until then, even though supposedly she tested negative for one of the tick bite parasites.  We drove to Terri‘s house, and Terri was home along with the crew installing her new windows. The rain stopped which was great so Alyzabeth and I picked her blueberries and got them in the freezer for her. She only has about six blueberry bushes, and there are still more blueberries to be picked maybe over the next week. I tried to weed a little around the bushes, but didn’t do much. Terri is dog sitting Gloria's Lucy. Friendly little furry pup!
After doing a few fussy things in her kitchen, we decided to leave as she was not going to eat anything except small meals during the day so we decided to go to A1 Diner in Gardner to have our lunch. The diner is very eclectic and has quite the variety on the menu. I had a beet arugula and goat cheese salad. Mom had the fried haddock dinner with coleslaw and french-fries, Alyzabeth had a grilled cheese sandwich with chips and a pickle and Ford had a chicken salad sandwich. Alyzabeth drove us home, fairly uneventful. Once home, Alyzabeth and I went out in the kayak and paddleboard as the lake was very calm and smooth waters. Melissa came home and we all sat around chatting before everybody getting some kind of snack or food of choice for dinner.  We watch the Magnolia channel motel rescue, the Sanibel Island episode and also Americas Got Talent. I’ve had a headache most of the day and Ford had some nausea in the morning so we headed to bed early and turned lights out at 10 PM.
