Last Full Week with Terri - More at Larry's Home 01/29/24

Monday: January 29th, breakfast, AA off to school, I worked until we drove to Larry's home right after 9:00 a.m. Put in a full day there. Terri somehow has some energy where I have begun to dread going through all the papers, correspondence, personal belongings. Terri tackled the garage and cleaned the stuff on the shelves and work bench - which was alot! Avon bottles and carnival glass.
Got dirty today! At 4:00 p.m., Shannon and Dave Bailey came over and selected some furniture to refinish, they will take the armoire, two nightstands (yellow), two oak side tables and LR TV coffee table. We decided to have dinner at Whitey's - Terri only could have the grilled fish, the sweet potato waffle fries and grits were without onion also.
Back home, we tried to watch the new Maine Cabin Master's but fell asleep! Terri watched the movie Bohemian Rhapsody in her room.
Tuesday, 30th: We put together dinner in the crock-pot; corned beef and cabbage, carrots and potatoes (used small white potatoes for first time, similar to fingerling). Took Ginger to the groomers, then Terri to Larry's and then off to Ford's PT (I got a coffee and talked with Mom). Donna needed to reschedule to next Tuesday. We then drove to Larry's so Ford could see the progress. Lunch was Wendy's right after we picked up Ginger, she always looks good and smells sweet!
We were home by 3:45, put the cabbage in the crock pot, changed our clothes, grabbed some olives, and off to the RH. Back home, dinner was delicious and of course, we were tired. We were resting by 8:00 p.m., hoping for a long sleep!
Wednesday: All day at Larry's. Usual morning, work and moving slow, both Terri and I had congestion/sinus issues overnight, the house decluttering may be finally getting to us physically. Another cool morning.
ThursdayFound money from WWI.
Found brass scarab, Egyptian, trinket box, gave to AA.
This morning I got up early around 4 AM and played solitaire and had coffee until the others woke up. I cooked a pound of bacon for our breakfast. Last night we took the black Subaru to Suburban for its oil change so this morning I took Alyzabeth to school and will pick her up after school. Then worked as usual and got ready to go to my Social Security appointment which I was able to get Alyzabeth the higher monthly amount using my new Social Security amount, and I figured out the Medicare payment. I need to make each month for the insurance. I definitely need to change over from the family plan to my Medicare advantage, but that means I have to find a standalone policy for Alyzabeth which I need to work on.
Back at Larry’s for lunch. Terri and I had leftover mellow mushroom pizza from the night before and we continued emptying out boxes in the trailer and Terry’s been packing up glass and sorting through lots of things and shredding papers. I’ve been through. We found many unique items in the trailer that were Charlotte’s mom and dad and grandparents items. so many dishes, clothes, old, dolls, kitchen items, costume jewelry, etc.
We picked up takeout food from Tijuana Flats for dinner and always ate too many chips and salsa, but it was good. During our dinner, we watched the recording of Finding Your Roots from Tuesday night, and we always enjoy that show.
After cleaning up doing some errands showing for some things we brought back from Larry‘s house I got ready for bed and in by 8 o’clock resting. Not sure if I’m catching a cold or it’s all the dust and cat fur and everything I’m breathing at Larry’s but I have had congestion for several days now and actually feel a bit sick.
Went to Walmart, picked up Ford’s prescription, and Valentines stuff to decorate our dining table.
Mailed a Barbie case to Melissa.
Friday: I took Ford to his back doctor, another shot, then a quick stop at Publix. I went to Larry's home for about an hour, then had my hair colored/cut. After showering at home, I worked, took a nap and made chicken piccata for dinner - while Terri slaved at Larry's home!
SaturdaySaturday morning came quickly. I worked for a couple of hours then Terri, Alyzabeth, and I got ready and go shopping.
Terri wanted to see Buc-ees after we described the new gas station and store to her. We gassed up the truck there and then shopped inside Terri found a little gifts for her grandkids. Everything from pens to Bucky socks some more towel and expandable retractable fork.
We drove to the St Augustine outlet store and shopped through every just about every shoe store. Terri found a favorite pair of heels that were pink skin colored that she loved and had to pay full price for. Alyzabeth and I found boots that we each got two for $99. I also found a pair of brown tall boots for $49. We went to Chicos and bought mini tops. Since Sonny’s barbecue has onion powder and all their seasonings, we went to the timeout Greek deli and ordered sandwiches for our late lunch.
Once made appetizers, prosciutto, cantaloupe and mozzarella, plus my usual tomato, basil and mozzarella, took to the River House. Hugh is in Brazil at his grandson‘s wedding so we met with Kathy and Maureen at the River House. Maureen has been having a rough week while he is gone, and Kathy and her son, Ed are watching her closely.
I made more of the appetizers at home, which Alyzabeth and I ate and everyone else got leftovers. AA continues to watch her Percy Jackson new TV series.
Sunday: February 4th, lots of rain. Terri and I went to church, took Larry's shirts to Karen Robinson for the Bannerman Center. We stopped at Public to get sloppy joe ingredients and AA's lunch items. Off to the movies to see Wonka. We loved the new movie, especially when we found out his mother's message to him - What is special, is not the chocolate, but the people you share it with.
Terri and I went to Larry's to get a few more things - Marsha's box of books (for her art projects, color pages in each book).
Monday: Last day before flying to Maine. Went to Larry's home to put out recyclables and trash. We then decided to tackle the LR carpet and got it all up and out curbside! Dirty business!
Ice cream treat!
Packed my carry-on suitcase and decided I needed to check thru AA's rolling suitcase - definitely worth it to bring all my boots and coats. Made "meatless Monday" of bruschetta. Terri helping washing Charlotte's Fiesta dishes.
Tuesday morning, all went well, and arrived at the airport in plenty of time to get coffee and a pumpkin, chocolate chip, blueberry gluten free muffin! About gave me sugar shock! We arrived in Maine a few minutes early. My Maine visit begins.
