Happy New Year's Eve and 01/01/2024!

Saturday: I ran some errands - Walmart prescriptions and groceries. I made fresh dill dip for our 4:30 Happy Hour, using mini-peppers as dippers.
Sunday: I wrote this on Facebook.
I haven't done this on Facebook in the past, looking back over the past year. This year is ending, we have much to be grateful for and yet there is sorrow that wells up in us almost daily, thinking of those who have traveled their last road on this earth. We were shocked it seemed each month, with the news of loss - a family member, a friend, a neighbor, a former co-worker and yes, our best friend. We have lost so many family members over many decades, now that I am older, why is this hitting us harder?
Sammy Johnson - AA's OPE Classmate (age 15)
Ana Chiang - AA's FIHS AICE Classmate (age 16)
Ginny Stone - Family; Sister Terri's MIL

David Coates - Neighbor
Benny Morgan - Family; Ford's Brother
Frank Harrison - Former Neighbor
Mary Morgan Parsons (along with Husband Jake and baby John Henry) - Morgan/Strobel Cousins
Cora Joyce Morgan - Family; Ford's Mother, my MIL, Married to Ford's Dad for 40 years.
Stephen Clarke - Family, Son of Cousin Gloria who had the St. Augustine condo for 30 years.
Marilyn Braiser - Family, Maine Cousin

This Sunday morning.....Lord, a new year is nearing me and is nearing all of us.  I pray it will prove more Beautiful than the last and I pray that I and others will live its days, week, and months more Beautifully as well. (words from Jim McWhinnie). May we all live a more beautiful life in 2024. ❤
Sunday was busy, baked sausage balls before going to church. At noon, we went to the River House to watch the Jaguar game, we won with the backup quarterback - Beathard (Trevor had a shoulder injury on top on three other injuries from the prior games we lost). Lots of food, but only about 20 members, so not crowded.
We came home, Ford grilled two large ribeye steaks, along with a fresh greens salad I made (fete cheese, tomatoes, balsamic dressing.
AA poked a few balloons starting at 6 p.m.; we made it to about 11 p.m., then off to bed. Didn't sleep well but got up to get ready for the zoo.
New Years Eve - Jesse played with Aerial Tribe (reunion), we did not go, but helped spread the word on social media.

New Years Day! Picking up, dishes, and the zoo with Siyan. AA drove to Magnolia Point and picked her up. See separate post.
