Jacksonville's Veteran Memorial Wall

We drove specifically to see the "wall". Did not realize the memorial was build in 1995. Very nicely designed, beautiful black wall and plenty of seating for viewing and for reflection. AA and Ford researched one name, a medal of honor recipient. All interesting and proud that Jacksonville set aside the funds and land for this memorial. Ford's Dad, Uncle Jack, two brothers and my Dad all served in the Army.
Veterans Memorial Wall is located at 1145 East Adams St, adjacent to TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The quarter-million dollar monument was dedicated in November, 1995 and serves as a tribute to more than 1,700 Jacksonville area American war heroes. Address: 1145 E Adams St, Jacksonville, FL.

ARMY:
Eternal flame:
The outdoor memorial was promoted as “the largest of its kind” and “the only wall that honors Veterans from all seven branches” (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine), now the second largest memorial wall in the United States, second only to the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. The 65 foot-long black granite monument contains the names of servicemen and women from World War I through the War on Terror. In front of the wall stands a torch with an eternal flame. The wall was rededicated on its 20 year anniversary in November, 2015.
"Dedicated to Heroes" - This downtown Jacksonville memorial is a somber yet noble tribute to those who fought for the nation. The outdoor memorial, lists veterans who fought in World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War. This reminder of the country's bravest was dedicated in November 1995 and constructed of black granite in "proud remembrance and humble tribute." It is also said to be the only wall that honors veterans from all six branches of service, including the Merchant Marines.
