12/05/22 Monday 1st Cataract Procedure

Monday: After a fun weekend due to not participating in golf tournaments, Ford's right eye received a new lens, all went well, he rested most of the day as ordered by the doctor. We took AA to school early, I picked her up, then to the FIGC for practice. Another week of her taking it easy on her left knee. No big swings, jumping or long walks (the stairs at school are a problem too).

Weather has been mild, getting in the high 70's - very nice!
Tuesday: Ford's follow-up eye appointment went well. AA volunteered with Siyan at the Orange Park Christmas Tree lighting.
Wednesday: AA has a big chemistry test on this Thursday, she declined an invitation from Ian to go with him to an Iceman ice hockey game. She found out she has a pre-calculus test on the same day (next Thursday) and same time as her JOI appointment (for her knee) so reschedule it for January 3rd.
We went to the Collective Culture Brewery (had to ask to change the music, loud, rude (plenty of swear words!) rap music) with Hugh, Maureen and Kathy, I made an appetizer - Asian Meatballs (made per the recipe - next time will make the meatballs smaller, cocktail size). Dinner was bruschetta.
Sesame seeds, fresh garlic, fresh ginger and green onions, plus a dipping sauce, very good.
The recipe doesn't include my changes, need to retype it someday.
Thursday: Ford and I both slept terrible last night, so dragging, moving slow! I did run to Walmart to pick up my printed photos and Christmas gift bags (being sent to Maine). AA scored an 85 on her Chemistry test and went to the golf course (FIGC) for putting/chipping practice. Worked in the morning and wrapped more Christmas gifts for Florida family - lots more to do including the box for Maine.
Spoke to Jim Read about the passing of his ex-wife Jess Ann - Facebook post from daughter Jessica (Jay) Read:
Dinner was Asian Orange Chicken with rice (bag kit salad). Yum!
Friday: Beautiful weather continues but much too DRY for Florida, pond levels are very low, definitely need rain. I worked most of morning, chatted with Terri on the phone, wrapped gifts, etc.
Dinner was leftover orange chicken and rice, plus honey roasted fresh carrots.
Saturday: Dylan's birthday and Winter Wonderland dance show. Facebook from Leaa: Happy 13th Birthday to this beautiful human! Dylan, it’s fitting that today, on your birthday, you will dance all day and night because that’s how you roll. You will always be my baby old soul and I love you more than I can say.
My Facebook: Happy 13th Birthday to Grand Dylan! I saw you as a teenager, beautiful and so grown-up, and a talented dancer today. Wonderful performance and wonderful Olaf! (anyone in St. Augustine tomorrow 2 p.m. and wants to hear and watch the "Winter Spectacular", $25 at the box office, Flagler Lewis Auditorium - it will get you in the Christmas spirit!). Dylan, have a grand time celebrating your birthday!

Leaa sent this better photo of Dylan as Olaf:
Back home (after stopping at Ancient City Brewery to pick up some beer pint cozies for the Florida family guys), Ford made homemade pizza dough and pizza, always good. We added more ornaments to our Christmas tree and completed a few of my tasks on my HUGE list of things to do!
Sunday: Planned to go to church, AA slept until 9:30 so missed the service. Decided to treat brunch at Metro Diner - 35 minute wait, always good food (tried breakfast bowls), had a great server. Wrapping more gifts, walking Ginger (cool, damp outside) a rest period to enjoy our new found time (no golf tournaments). Then watched the Jaguar game, exciting so drove to the CC Brewery (and met up with Kathy) to watch the 4th quarter, big win over the Titans!
Leftover homemade pizza for dinner and more Christmas card writing with AA and TV on. That's a wrap!
