NFJG tournament at Marsh Landing, PVB. She did not play well, seemed to be the story, not sure when her confidence was shaken or what happened. Making a few changes, scheduled playing time with Penny and Stephanie. On to the next tournament!
Jack's Recap: Ninety boys and girls in the 13-18 peer group tee’d it up this week with some fine play on a difficult course with fast greens. The winds blew 10-12 mph all afternoon with gusts to 15 mph, making for another added element to consider besides the intimidating marsh carries.
In the Elite Tour Girls division, last minute entry proves to be the winner as Ponte Vedra’s Nancy Cox would take the top spot in a strong girl’s division field. Cox would post a nice round of four over par 76 to take the gold medal. Cox would birdie the par-4 18th hole and EAGLE the par-5 8th taking on the marsh carry. She would drain a six-footer for eagle-3. Four strokes back at 80 and fresh off the prom night trail would be Jacksonville’s Annabelle Mozingo. St. Augustine’s youngster (12) Sofia Rivera would come in at 81 to grab the bronze.
