NFJG Palatka Golf 5th Place!

Another two day NFJG tournament at Palatka, a wonderful golf course, hilly and challenging, shorter for walkers (Ford showed 11,000 steps on Round 1). Warmer weather with a stiff breeze.
Round 1: Your Sat Mar 5 starting time is 11:02 AM on #10 A. Morgan, N. Cox, S. Rivera. Putting:

Round 2:
Sat Mar 5 starting time is 9:44 #1  A. Morgan, T. Whiting, L. Barned.
I arrived in time to see her double bogey Hole 9 (I'm a jinx!). It was a beautiful day to walk the course, very compact so only about 6000 steps (Ford did 11,000 steps both days).
Playing with Tylar Whiting is always nice, Dad Matt and Grandfather Gary (wife Laurie recently retired, they moved to Port Orange to be close to Matt) was there - said he takes a picture of AA and Tylar every time they play together. Tylar has accepted to Daytona State college, says the Women's Golf Coach is the best, emphasizing the mental game.

At the club house, at the turn, snacks for anyone.

Tylar tied for 2nd place. AA had a rough last ten holes. I saw several putts lip out, and two chips that flew past the hole. Every day is different! A top 5 was still a good finish of 29 girls, considering.
Jack's Newsletter Recap:
The Girls 13-18 division had a stellar group of players. Twenty-nine players teed it up and jumping out into the lead in round one was another past champion. St. Augustine’s Sofia Rivera along with McAlpin’s Ryan Donaldson would conclude their day tied at two over par 74. One back at 75 would be St. John’s Alexia MilBrandt along with Port Orange’s Tylar Ann Whiting.
In round two Sofia Rivera would start out triple – double to make her run at the title a very tough one to achieve. She would manage some good play, but the Donald Ross design took a bite, a big bite.
On the other hand, round one co-leader Ryan Donaldson would have back-to-back birdies to lessen the pain of two earlier double bogeys and turn at two over par 39. She would birdie the par-3 12th hole and eagle the par-5 18th to take the title by seven shots over Maddie Rathjen who bested her round one score by four shots. Tyler Ann Whiting would be the 3rd place winner (tied with 2nd place score).
AA's thank you note to the Palatka Pro:
