US Kids - Red, White and Blue Regional Tournament Round 1 July 1st

U.S. Kids Golf Regional Tournament: AA and the 10 year old girls are playing 18 holes at Whispering Pines (along with the youngest boys and the girls up to age 12). Lucky Tyler M. is playing on the Pinehurst Course No. 1. I can't wait to see AA on a Pinehurst course. One year ago, AA competed in this same tournament on Longleaf Golf Course with Jason Voigts as her Caddie; Daddy Caddie was on strict "couch rest" as he was scheduled for open heart surgery in less than two weeks! We are so glad this summer is very different than last summer!
During her practice, we met up with Canadian friends Dino and daughter Vanessa Borovilos. It is going to be a hot day, wish the clouds would come back! AA doesn't play 18 holes very often and probably won't until she is over 12 years old.

Driving range:
I didn't walk with them, so this is at the end, Hole 18:
 The End!
It was threatening rain with thunder and lightning going all around them. The horn blew and the last group had to wait about an hour before finishing. Scoring table:
She did well with a 36 (2-birdies; 2-bogies) on the back nine, total score = 78. Tyler had an excellent round of 70! Tee time for Round 2 is 12:20 p.m. I watched Canadian friend Vanessa finish her 18th hole (Dad Dino is on left):
Saturday evening I made a simple shrimp, lemon, garlic, capers with linguine. We all love pasta and garlic!
