Drive Chip and Putt - TPC Sawgrass - Saturday 09/12/15

The day started out very dark as we left our home at 6:15 a.m. to be at the TPC Sawgrass Golf course around 7:00 a.m. The weather changed significantly from yesterday, for the next two days, no 90 degree heat! Driving to the TPC it was 81 degrees, then dropping as we approached Ponte Verdra Beach. With the jet stream dipping into North Florida, a high of 80 was expected (ended up being 76 degrees). And rain.
As AA was getting ready for her time, the light rain came along with gusty wind. By the time she was done, the sun came out; only the contestants scheduled near her hit this bad weather. I don't have any proof, as I don't get the camera out in the rain! Believe me, when AA was chipping and putting the rain was blowing all around her!

Driving practice:
Her actual third chip during the contest (I was under a tent and chanced taking out the camera; AA wouldn't put on her Rain Girl jacket until after the contest was over!):
The "fake" medals, used for photos only; we were told that custom ones will be in the mail.
AA finished 1st in Putting and 3rd Overall! Did you know that she finished 1st in her Putt score in the local, sub-regional and again in this regional?
From Facebook: Alyzabeth did wonderful, placing 3rd overall in the Drive Chip Putt Regional. She placed 1st in putting for her age group. Exciting day! ‪#‎AlyzabethMorganGolf‬ (Overall 1st place goes on to Augusta - The Master's in April 2016). ‪#‎Drivechipandputt‬
The girl who placed third in the putting did not stay for the awards; so only two in the photo - Putting Champs:
Overall photo - all three girls in the 7 - 9 age group:
We spoke to the Davis' family - Andrew finished 2nd place overall!
Watching the Boys 7 - 9 Awards:
Each contestant was given a driver head cover and a set of ball markers from the Sponsors:
AA was mentioned in the St. Augustine Record and the Jacksonville Times-Union; brief but mentioned, plus a few professional photos taken by Golf Channel and Getty Images.
And that wraps up the journey to go to the Masters, Augusta Georgia in April 2016! Great effort by AA!
UPDATE: Her real medals came in the mail in early October.
Third overall:
