January 13 - 19th 2025

Monday: We were on the road early to go see Dr. Legacy. He is prescribing a stronger dose of QUEtiapine/Seroquel for a week, then if needed half a pill during the day. We then went to Metro Diner for brunch (Ford had the fried steak special; I ate the delicious bacon, avocado, scrambled eggs with hash browns and hollandaise sauce), skipping Ford's Parkinson exercises (his choice).

After a stop at home, we drove to Ford's wound doctor appointment - Ascension Medical Group, Hospital Outpatient, Middleburg. His lower legs were cleaned up with the help of lidocaine to numb his skin. We went straight home as his legs hurt, enough pain he wanted to lay down. After getting him settled, I went to Publix to buy a rotisserie chicken for dinner (along with mashed potatoes and peas).
AA went to PT, then lots of homework in between coughing, he cold seems to have returned. We watched Jeopardy, then off to bed to watch my recording of All Creatures Great and Small - first episode of Season 5.
TuesdayOur morning was pretty quiet while we got ready for Donna to come to clean the house. I spoke to Terri for about 15 or 20 minutes about the genealogy information she sent; connect Grandmother, E-E to a Mayflower descendent. Ford and I got ready to leave as Donna came, but first Ford rested for about an hour in his chair as he had taken that new double dose of QUE/Seroquel last night, so I think it made him a little sleepier in the morning. About 10:30 we left and went to Walmart where I made some photos into pictures to include in thank you notes and picked up a few items we needed at the pharmacy. We then went up to the Club Continental to see about joining again and found out it was a bit more expensive than what I originally thought. We were members back in 1991 and then on and off until we got Alyzabeth, then we were not members after January 2016 (initiation fee is now $650 with monthly family fee of $175 and minimum of $35 monthly).  We went to lunch at Sonny’s barbecue, and then home, then back to Walmart to pick up a prescription for new Seroquel and the photos.
We then went to Publix to pick up a few items for our dinner Wednesday night which will be jambalaya. Back home Alyzabeth came home from school after staying late for Spanish tutoring. She started working on her calculus homework and studying for her quiz as she has Laurie tonight at 7:30. Ford and I went to River House, I made my cantaloupe, prosciutto ham, and mozzarella cheese little appetizers, met with Kathy and Karrie. Hugh and Maureen are packing to move to Tampa, with her daughter Erin in town so they were busy getting ready for the movers tomorrow morning Wednesday the 15th. Once back at home we heated up leftover already cooked hotdogs and salads from Publix. Watched TV Finding Your Roots, a new episode new season tonight.
Wednesday: 15th: Kaci and Luke's 30th Anniversary - Ford attended their wedding, I did not.
We left the house early to make a 7 am PCP appointment with Dr. Dolven. Discussed Ford's abdomen, will have to have a CAT scan.
Drove the green Subaru to Suburban for oil change.
Dinner, I made Jambalaya (sausage, chicken and shrimp).
Thursday: I drove AA to school, then back home to get Ford to his Parkinson exercises. I stayed in truck (49 degrees) and chatted briefly with Terri; Mom was at an imaging appointment (I think for her sinuses). Ford and I went to Time Out Deli for lunch, hamburger and BLT. Picked up the Subaru after school with AA (she stays after for Spanish tutoring) and a quick trip to Publix.
More aloe plant flowers - crazy, it is so cold, one of the coldest January's in 30 years:
Ramen noodles for dinner - was a bit of a flop as I started late, hurried as AA had Spanish tutoring - then was cancelled at 6:50 as Laureen wasn't feeling well - still healing from hip replacement.
The packaged ramen noodles were good; Ford's packaged Pad Thai was plain, needs much semi-homemade help! I made Mongolian Beef Ramen noodles, pretty good, using skirt steak, need to cut in thin, smaller strips, with Bok choi and broccoli plus ginger and garlic. Will make again on Monday most likely.
Friday: Last night, Ford had a pretty significant hallucination event, involving his feet, people in our bedroom and a cat. The new dose of meds as working in that we are sleeping longer, but he still has these "mild" challenges. Lazy morning (have not scheduled any PT for Ford, taking a break while his legs heal), submitted application to foster/adopt a dog Mochi near Tampa, almost two years old.
Then baked pumpkin bread and made mango salsa to have this weekend. Soaking beans for a crock pot of red beans and rice on Saturday. Leftover jambalaya for dinner.
Saturday: We drove to Mike and Mia's new home on Whipstick Trail, visited for about an hour, gave them mango salsa, pumpkin bread. They got their internet working and were able to watch the football games. Mike left early Sunday morning, back to Atlanta. We drove home, dropped off AA, then went to the River House. Kathy and Karrie, no news about Hugh. We watched football, enjoyed lots of snacks by Michelle, plus we brought cheese and mango salsa and scoops; Kathy brought cheddar wine cheese and crackers. Michelle loved the mango salsa, so will give her the recipe.
Back home, ate red beans and rice for dinner, watched second game, Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills, Commanders won (along with Kansas City winning in the early game).
During the night, Ford slept well during the football game, but then had three episodes where he took off his shirt, then 30 minutes later woke to wanting it back on, which three times I got up and helped him; long night! I think I slept from 3:30 - 5:30 a.m.
Sunday: Hard rain during the night; expecting freezing temperatures for next five mornings. Slow morning, I went to Church, chatted with Terri, Mom and she went to Mike and Sharon's Dad's visiting at a Bath tavern. Melissa is house/pet sitting at Hilary's while she is in New York at Areej (Palestine/Arab, Greek Orthodox, grew up in Brooklyn) and JT's wedding.
We got takeout pizza, burger from Barley and Pie; chicken wings from Publix. Watched the football game; Eagles won, late game is Ravens vs. Bills - Bills won. I taped new episodes of Miss Scarlet and All Creatures Great and Small. We ate mango salsa and settled in for the night.
