Monday 12/16/24

Monday: I slept through my alarm, didn't get to sleep until after 1 am (Ford very antsy most of night, up and down). Went to Ford's Parkinson exercises, I walked a little. Mailed some Christmas cards, I am so behind! Then to Publix, put gas in car at $2.99/gal; then lunch at Time Out Deli. With AA back home, icing her leg, she had corn dip for snack (didn't eat any of her lunch); she seems to have a mild cold, no temperature.

AA went to her PT. She is putting weigh on her leg, using one crutch.
Mia texted a few photos of Madison's kayak adventure near the Keys.
The Bailey's EE Christmas tree in Spring Park, GCS.
Visit at Leaa's after AA's surgeon Dr. Patrick Jones appointment - getting love with Dolly:
New "clear" eyeglasses, now I can see at night!
Leftover taco soup for dinner made into nachos!
Boxes arriving from Maine and giving away most of our lemons - a bumper crop this year!
Kilee:
Tuesday: Donna came and cleaned, we gave her a Christmas "bonus" of $150. We went to Ford's PT on Kingsley, then to Walgreens for cold medicine, stocking stuffers and journal for Autumn; and mailed Bill's headphones at the OP post office. Lunch was at Barley and Pie - smashed hamburger and I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken.

We called Ginger's Vet to get the final recommendation - which means Ginger will be euthanized soon. I picked up AA from her Spanish tutoring, she continues to finish semester end projects and study for her finals.
Ford and I went to the RH, (took canned goods for the food drive) sat at the outside bar, then home to heat up our leftover spaghetti for dinner. Weather has been mild, very nice this week.

Wednesday: Half days at school - Three days of finals.
AICE party. I mailed two boxes to Maine, shopped at Target.
We did not attend the River House members' Christmas party.
We took Ginger to the Vet, this is her last day on earth/transitioning to the rainbow bridge, to eternal life. God made all animals and loves them all, so we know Ginger has an angel looking over her. See separate post on Ginger.
I made bruschetta for dinner. Sad day, missing Ginger.
AA made the small Skittles gingerbread house; a bit minimal.
Thursday: Usual morning, driving AA to school, warm day. I chatted with Terri from 8:25 - 8:55 a.m. She talked about Mom, Melissa's meanness, screaming the night before. We drove to Ford's Parkinson exercises, took store bought Christmas cookies (Target), I walked, talked with Mom, good chat. a little about Ginger but mostly other topics. I mailed two more boxes (one to Terri, one to Mom).
AA had two more finals. She found out that she earned an A in AP Calculus BC (Calculus 1 and 2). Yeah!! Straight A's this semester!
From Facebook:
Good news, Alyzabeth earned all A’s, six AICE/AP/Dual Enrollment classes. So proud of her achievement! And thank you to her teachers at #FIHS and special thanks to Laureen Delaney-Burke and Laurie McDonald - they make a big difference in her education!!
She still has a cold and cough; she was home in time for lunch, so we splurged and drove to Hawkers. Delicious! AA finished her English scrapbook project on Lydia from Pride and Prejudice. Ford and I went to the RH, to give Michelle her Christmas card and Metro Diner gift card. Michelle gave us personalized cork coasters. Chatted with Christina and "new" Bob (golfer, originally from Ohio).
Dinner was leftovers from Hawker's plus a salad.
Friday: Alyzabeth's last day of school - Christmas break is here! She had two finals today. One was a presentation of her pride and prejudice scrapbook on Lydia. She earned a 100 on it, even though she was hoarse, and struggling with the presentation due to her cold.
Ford went to his PT appointment which was at the silos this time. I didn’t do much at all. I seem to be in a bit of a zombie state and sat in the car the whole time.
She came home and rested on the couch while Ford and I went to lunch at Whiteys with Dave and Julia Chilton. We caught up on our family news of their visits to her town in Illinois. Her niece who has twin boys and a daughter.
They also visit Kentucky and Dave mentioned a brother coming to visit. Dave talked of his navy time and singing in a chorus. He still does that now and sang in Charleston last year and they also visited Savannah. They go to church at a Christ church over in Mandarin, but it changes his name to the way. They always seem to like the people as long as the politics are not mentioned in the church. We came home and I went to Publix to pick up a few items Baked a fresh market frozen chicken pot pie for dinner.
A box of apples from Maine arrived today which included a apple pepper jam, an apple pie jam, some cheese, and a small bottle of maple syrup all from my mom. I will make an apple pie and apple crisp out of these apples.
Alyzabeth continues to have her seasonal ice cream of eggnog flavor from Publix for desserts. The weather has turned chilly and will be for the weekend. I have lots of Christmas gift wrapping to do over the next few days and planning our holiday meals.
Siyan gave AA hot chocolate and a Highland cow mug:
