Maine Trip - Part 3 (02/10/24)

Saturday, Feb. 10th: I enjoyed coffee each morning, breakfast, then some planning for our Sunday family visit. Melissa and I drove to LL Bean to meet up with Patti, Terri and Hilary (Aunti Jean had a sore throat and Mom was a bit tired and wanted to get house ready for Sunday). We wandered all through the store, Terri bought her pants, and I got a sherpa jacket for Leaa (had it mailed directly). After parting ways with Patti (she had a church lady to visit for the afternoon), we went to Brickyard Hollow for lunch of pizza. Good choice only two blocks away.
Lunch at Brickyard:
Beer (4 ounces):
We then stopped in at Mexicali Blues where I bought too much stuff! Then to LL Bean Outlet store where Terri found a king flannel sheet set to buy. At the LL Bean outlet, we saw cousin Larry Barker working. Had a quick hello and photo.
We said goodbye to Terri and Melissa and I went to the grocery store, once home realized she didn't get the ground turkey for the chili so back out we went (and hid helium balloons in her car overnight).
Melissa and I stopped in at a new shop "On the Dockside" and I bought a wood board made by neighbor Brenda LaFleur.
Sunday, 11th: I worked a little, updated blog with coffee. Mom and Melissa prepared for our family visitors. Separate post with photos of family.
After all left, watched the first half of the Super Bowl in the LR with Mom and Melissa, then the last half and OT in bed. Exciting game, very close, so happy the Kansas City Chiefs won. The SF 49ers had a capable young quarterback (Purdy) who did outshine the Chiefs in the first half.
Monday: Mom drove me to the airport, curbside goodbye.
The flight to Washington DC was a bit bumpy, not too bad. Enjoyed seeing NW Maine from window, the plane took off to the NW, so saw the White Mountains, snowcapped, and then the Saco River area (Hilary lives).
Once in DC, I had to take the shuttle from Concourse A to Concourse D. Worked out okay, grabbed a yogurt for lunch.
Once home, had lots of hugs, chatted for awhile, unpacked and Ford made Lo Mein, homemade! It was very good. Picture, I am in Honda truck at JAX - almost home!
I took Ginger for a walk, she seemed excited to have her personal walked back home.
