Saturday: We woke up, restful night! Light breakfast with coffee, breakfast cookies, Mia brought bananas. I went to Publix to buy balloons and ice cream cake.
We all worked at the dining room table, went next door to check out the trailer for sale (not good, floods, and is $425,000 for a 2ba/2bd with low ceilings). Many others for sale most closer to the one million dollar asking price. We drove to a fish bait/tackle shop, Genungs Fish Camp (located at 291 Cubbedge Rd) to buy shrimp for fishing.
We ate leftover salad for lunch, walked the beach with Leaa, Jesse and Dolly. Hot day, but not scorching. Ford tried his hand at fishing from the canal dock.
Cool front arrives during the night. We had a glass of wine with hummus/crackers, then went to dinner with Leaa and Liv; Urban A1A, we walked to it but rode home with Leaa, very dark and no sidewalks. Food was good. After much yawning, we headed to bed at 10 p.m. Ginger has been very good, just can't walk on the vinyl flooring - need to put on her packing list the non-stick paw pads.
Sunday: Another lazy morning, Chilly outside, but beautiful.
We made coffee, ate fruit and picked up the bathrooms to prepare for the celebration. I arranged the pumpkins, set out the birthday cards we had for Nicole, Leaa and Justin.
AA and I drove to Smokin D's BBQ to pick up our family meal of cole slaw, beans, rolls, pork, chicken and beef brisket.
Everyone arrived, first Carl and Marsha with appetizers and Cara and Pearl brought fruit to begin our fun together. Travis and Miles were napping, much needed per Cara. Leaa, Jesse, Justin, Kilee (staying for a week, taking mid-terms on line), Dylan, Liv and Tristen all arrived by bike and car, then Nicole, Jordan (had to work the entire time), Mila, Avery. Madison and Mali (Polynesian name; college friend of Madison who lives in Jacksonville) drove up from USF.
Ice cream cake, chocolate sheet cake (Joy's recipe) and Banana Pudding (from Smokin D's) - Singing Happy Birthday to Everyone!
After the meal and dessert, everyone found their favorite spot at this house, the back deck, the dock and inside around the huge kitchen. Mia was able to have a good visit with Madison and get to know Mali.
I then herded everyone outside to toast to Nana Joy, with her white zinfandel wine. I got choked up so didn't say much but we all remember Joy so fondly.
