I attended the FIHS open house, went to all six of AA's classes (walked about 1900 steps, quite a distance to her 6th period portable class!).
Her biology teacher, Mr. Jeremiah Sauer was absent, so only a note on his door. Period 2: English Literature Mr. Steven Shannon, he explained all the books they will read, a novel, plays and poems.
Period 3: Math with Ms. Ana Duke, from Columbia, also was an electrical engineer. She seemed very organized, posting the weeks schedule on the white board, adding daily notes to google classroom.
Period 4: History with Mr. Brian Gartner, US history between 1940 - 1992 (Clinton Inauguration). AA's first assignment was stapled to the board - a photo of the horse rescue program after WWII. He said the Junior year is the hardest, definitely like running the gauntlet! Don't get behind.
Period 5: Spanish, Ms. Ruth Brasfield. She loves the language and says all her students are there for their love of the language, lots of vocabulary and speaking.
Period 6: Psychology, Ms. Lindsay Rice, graduated from Flagler College. Very energetic, students must take notes, studies 12 clinical cases, hard college level class, then begins review in March.
