Another Monday, July 31st - Almost School Time!

Let not what you cannot do tear you from what you can do.
Monday 07/31/23: We stripped beds and did four loads of wash! Usual chores, ate leftovers for lunch. AA and I walked Ginger, then drove to the library - we walked from the library to the Fleming Island Golf Course. Round trip walk was 3.6 miles - a bit too much for AA's first walk without the crutch. We will go every other day and build up her stamina, just not when it is 95 degrees and a bit too long. Bruschetta for dinner:
AA and I watched Season 2 of Grantchester, we like the humor but they also tackle mature topics, good to hear the outcomes.
Tuesday, 08/01/23: AA had PT at 9:00 a.m. (I walked 4000 steps while talking with Mom).
Donna called off as her mother is in hospice. We cancelled the scheduled noon zoom financial session with Trustwell, going over our future plans - will meet in person. Since our schedule was all changed, we went to Metro Diner for lunch, taking AA out a few times before school begins on Aug. 10th.
We attended AA's FIGC Girls Golf Team meeting at 6:00 p.m. with Coach Brian Nedrich (no River House happy hour for us today). There are three freshmen, which is good news for the team.
Wednesday: Ford and I went to his UF DBS Parkinson's evaluation. Joshua was very thorough, asking questions, probing, a light physical (moving arms, feet, legs, neck, walking, watching Ford's movement). Joshua is not convinced Ford has the "traditional" Parkinson's but possibly the less known types. The parking was packed, either drive the Subaru or use the valet parking.
AA and I stopped by FIGC to say Hi to Coach Bryan and we walked 25 minutes on the Black Creek Trail.
Dinner was new recipe: fried rice and vegetable dumplings (store-bought). The dinner was okay, I think I would not have the cilantro as garnish, add edamame.
AA and I have been watching Grantchester; it tackles many mature topics; tragedies, love, death, LGBQT, racism, adultery, etc. Quite an eye opener. Disturbing is all the drinking and smoking along with Vicar Sidney's dalliances! We are up to Season Four!
Thursday: Ford went to his Parkinson exercises. AA went to the FIGC for the FIHS Girls Golf Team try-out (we went to the bar for a drink and talked with Coach Bryan again). She walked with Chloe for nine holes, 11,000 steps! and it was hot - 96 degrees. She's building up her strength. We had Ford's fried fish (from Justin's catches), hush puppies and cole-slaw. Very yummy!
We continued into Season Five of Grantchester! Very mature topics and humorous!
Friday: Ford and I went to his neurologist appointment, Dr. Do ordered a nerve test for his back problems. I worked four hours.
AA had PT at 2:15 p.n. with Lisa; all is going well. Have to wait until the surgeon's appointment for any further change. Roasted the chicken (two large hens and 2 lbs. chicken breasts) for Sunday's Panini sandwiches. AA made our dinner - panini sandwiches - practicing for Sunday!
An owl occasionally visits us, in tree:
Saturday: Did not sleep at all last night, so moving slow! Did the food preparations for tomorrow's lunch at Leaa's: grocery shopped for bread, cherry tomatoes and basil leaves; sliced the remaining cooked chicken; AA stayed at the library while I shopped. AA cut up three entire garlic heads while we were at Kathy's. Instead of going to the River House, Kathy invited us to her condo as Maureen is still not going out in public, enjoyed Sweet Sensation Outlaw chicken salad along with Kathy's cheese and hummus. We continued to watch Grantchester Season Five.
Sunday: Packed up the panini grill and food; drove to Leaa's home for a family visit with Kilee - see separate post.
We also are thinking of the Strobel family, the loss of Shawn's daughter, Mary Parson (husband murdered her, then he committed suicide - their four month old baby died just a few months ago). The funeral is August 7th.
