Monday: We received word that cousin Don Blaisdell passed away in California. My Mom called first to tell me he was very sick, then we heard from Dick that he was gone. Dick called me and we chatted about everything possible, family, Don's paintings (take pictures of the ones we have and send to him). I invited him to come to Florida for a visit.
AA golf practice after school. Last day of Oktoberfest, made for the first time bratwurst, cabbage and potatoes with a mustard sauce.
Before baking in oven:
Tuesday: Happy Anniversary to us! #37! Ford sent me roses and lilies! So beautiful!
We went to Maple Street Biscuit for "brunch" a treat for our anniversary and a guy, waiting for his to-go order, paid for our meal!! He was surprised when we told him he just paid for our anniversary treat and that we would pay it forward in the near future.
Ginger had her annual check-up and passed, good weight (50.6 lbs after eating breakfast and with her harness on). Home FIHS Girls Golf game against Palatka.
Made a chicken dish (and rice) ahead so only needed to reheat for dinner as we got home about 6:45 p.m. Late, slow match!
Wednesday: I made deviled eggs, Ford made a batch of his homemade spaghetti sauce. Visited Larry, took him pumpkin bread. Joy arrived back at our home after a week in North Carolina. AA continues to have golf team practice after school. We enjoyed Happy Hour at CC.
Thursday: I had my hair colored, dropped off some deviled eggs for Hugh and Maureen.
AA received her 9th Grade Florida State test scores, ELA and Biology - she scored the highest - a "5".
Celebrated our 37th anniversary with dinner at Santioni's with AA and Joy.
Friday: Joy left this morning, arrived safely in Okeechobee. We picked up another donated bike and dropped off at OPUMC James Boys work yard.
AA had another tough week with overload of homework and tests and a debate. She did fine but worries about keeping up. She did text us as soon as she realized she was called to the Principal's office/Hall of Champions for being the Clay County Athlete of the Week (separate post). She golfed at the Back Tee Academy after school, we made homemade pizza for dinner (fresh bell pepper, onion and tomatoes with hamburger, pepperoni). No fresh basil in our home, I have managed to kill all my basil plants!
Saturday: Drove to Sea Island picking up AA's new clubs from Curtis Leggett, Master Club Fitter (separate post). We arrived home in time to take AA to the FIGC at 2:30 for golf lesson, picked her up at 4:00 p.m. and then Ford and I drove to our Happy Hour at River House - Octoberfest with food. Beautiful weather on the RH deck, slight breeze, 84 degrees!
In the evening, Ford and I watched the movie The Last Bus Trip - a most depressing movie, an elderly gentleman who travels the length of the United Kingdom to scatter his late wife's ashes! The main actor is the same man who played Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter movies, Timothy Spall (a bad character). The actress/wife (who dies) is from Downton Abbey, Phyllis Logan (played Mrs. Hughes).
Sunday: We had a lazy morning, AA did some homework until 12:30 p.m. I did laundry, stripped AA's bed and watched a movie titled A Promise to Astrid. I did not know it was a faith-based movie, based on a true story (a neighbor wrote about the main character, Astrid and all her "helping" of members of their community. Worth watching but a bit odd.
We stopped by the Bailey's with some pumpkin bread before dropping AA off at the FIGC for another session with Coach Bryan (at 1:30 p.m.) with her new golf clubs. AA stayed home after our dinner of leftovers, we drove to Nicole's to drop off her birthday gift (kitchen scales and money; plus pumpkin bread). Lastly, dropped the Subaru car off at Suburban for front tire leak and a noise coming from the engine area when turning on the blower/AC. And somehow in the afternoon we caught some of the Jaguar football game, they lost to a losing team, the Houston Texans.
