Week of August 8th!

From Jack: Monday, we have the “Tournament of Champions” at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club – Lagoon Course.  I congratulate you on being a part of this event, as it is an invitation of our elite players and “crowned Champions”. Have fun and enjoy the course (non-points tournament - separate post).
Tuesday: We picked up Siyan Donaldson at 10:30 at FIHS and drove to the Ravines State park. Nice weather, very humid so we did SWEAT alot! Not many plants were in bloom, but with very few people and clean/air conditioned bathrooms, all was good for Siyan's first time there.
High school golf team practice Monday - Thursday. Still very hot weather! Dinner was a simple sautéed tomatoes and spinach with thin spaghetti and parmesan cheese.
Wednesday: First day of 10th Grade!! A sophomore! AA survived, but can tell already with AICE program will be a challenge. Two course are college level; she will get college credit.
Ford grilled hamburgers, reheated leftover mashed potatoes, I roasted carrots (with olive oil, honey and a light dusting of cayenne pepper - turned out good).
Thursday: I flew to Maine for Jamie's wedding - early flight at 5:40 a.m. was cancelled, moved to a 9:00 flight that finally took off at 10:40 a.m. - but I made my connection that landed at 3:15 (my original connection, I had booked a flight that landed at 11:00 a.m.)!! AA has 40 - 60 pre-calculus problems each school night, plus quiz on chemistry lab safety, a quiz on the book Great Gatsby (read over the summer) and a three paragraph biography. I am sure I missed a few of her other assignments, school is starting fast!
Arrived in Maine to beautiful weather in the 70's!
Friday: Separate posts on my long weekend visit in Maine/home to see family. AA is off to school with hopefully a relaxing weekend - no NFJG tournaments until October. She did her chemistry homework for the entire next week as time after school is short with golf practice.
Saturday: AA played golf with Stephanie and with some rain. Daddy and AA have been eating prepared frozen meals at home so far.
Sunday: AA had a golf lesson with Coach Bryan, discussed Stephanie's suggestion to have AA's equipment re-evaluated. I'll be home on Tuesday with better details of our daily life!
