Week of January 10th - 16th

Monday: I worked several hours at home, cleaned out a few drawers (January goal to go through every drawer in the house!). We have succeeded in now having three empty drawers (from eight).
We made the cherry phyllo dessert bites for dinner, along with meatless Monday's bruschetta. AA went to her golf lesson and played until 5:30 p.m. AA wearing Christmas gift from Nicole/Jordan, a new hoodie shirt.
We have been using the wine aerator that Cathy/Werner gave as a "door" prize on Christmas day, we think it does help.
Tuesday: Last night (Monday) was the college NCAA Championship between Alabama and Georgia Bulldogs. We ended up watching it on repeat at midnight - 3 a.m. Great fourth quarter scoring and Georgia won big.
Renovation Team came to look over our "to-do" list of minor home repairs (one lady, Angel, we all wore masks). Sounds promising, will have a quote tomorrow. Cold day!
I decided not to go to Dylan's dance recital/solo dance (school night so Ford and AA were going to stay home). We really wrestled with this, another opportunity to be exposed to COVID and bring it back to Ford and AA. Since AA goes to school every day, we already have that risk, so do I add another risk by sitting for two hours in a high school auditorium? Due to the huge rise in COVID positive cases since Christmas, decided not to be inside the school auditorium.
AA went to golf practice until 5:45; we had a glass of wine on Talon's patio. Cold but with the sun on us, we were just barely comfortable (58 degrees).
Walking back home, chatting with her Daddy.
Wednesday: I continue to work at home, we had the oil changed in the car and ended up getting the front brakes replaced too. We have been cleaning out one drawer per day (missed a few days but are making progress). AA practiced golf from 2:30 - 5:30.
We ordered tacos from Chipotle's (again). We received the quote from HER's for many home repairs, will authorize them to start on 22 of them ($1190.)
We went through our thankful jar of notes for 2016/Jan. 2017 and found this note:
Thursday: Ford went to the dentist and grocery shopped. I went to the movies with Kathy McDonald, watched American Underdog, the life of Kurt Warner. It was a good movie, very sweet with TONS of football (no surprise!).
We enjoyed Ford's spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
Friday: AA and Ford drove to Gainesville. I have a list to "honey-do" while they are gone. I started with breaking down boxes, and emptying two boxes in the garage. I mixed up a couple months of Ginger's dry dog food, ordered Ford's L.L. Bean shoes, and washed the couch slipcovers.
Saturday: FSGA Round 1 (separate post). I met Carolyn at the RAM market and had lunch (separate post).
Then off to the River House. I made the cherry dessert bites.
I stopped at this local garden store and bought a large pot of red geraniums.
Gifts from Carolyn, we agreed not to exchange Christmas gifts, so these are more like "treats". Either way, she violated the "rule"!
Hugh brought two cans of beer that he would not drink for Ford:
Walking Ginger after dark - new glow collar works!
I actually made 10,000 steps!

Sunday: FSGA Round 2. Woke up to pouring rain and WIND! Ginger and I did get in a potty break early, then later, the sun came out (a little) and more WIND. Back to the garage to continue opening boxes. I took the zest/rind off our one ponderosa lemon we grew this year.
Washed the couch slipcovers - all put back together!
Preparing to make chili in the crock pot tomorrow.
I didn't move very fast today, so didn't attack the garage as much as I wanted to. I did unpack a box and washed lots of cobalt blue glassware. Resting day!
And Monday, after Round 3, AA and Ford will be home!
