End of 8th Grade - Next up 9th Grade!

No 8th Grade Dance. No buying a special dress.
No 8th Grade School Awards Ceremony. We read about many celebrations (Facebook friends) "8th Grade Graduation Ceremonies", "Recognition ceremonies", "Promotional Ceremonies", "Step-Up Ceremonies", dances, dinners, etc.
With COVID, some ceremonies were virtual - but none from AA's school. None. No robotics team for remote students. No school activities. No celebration for her completing/earning all A's; her last year before entering High School.
(Boy do we miss #OPE! They set AA up with an excellent education with caring teachers. They celebrated frequently.)
Proud of her surviving a trying school year, AA has been working remotely since last Spring (March 2020) and all through the pandemic so no time with friends she met in 7th grade at OPJH.

Now a rising 9th Grader - Fleming Island High School is next and she has become a member of the FIHS Girls Golf Team (already checked in with the Coach, schedule for meetings and practice).

Congratulations Alyzabeth! May your four years of high school be memorable with new friendships, renewing old ones, achieving the best you can be and the best education so that college will be a welcomed challenge!
We had our own small celebration with AA's favorite ice cream - homemade banana split with mint chocolate chip ice cream and whipped cream! Congratulations on earning all A's! All A's since OPE began letter grading in 3rd grade! *I put a much shorter post on Facebook without my parent rant about no ceremonies!! :)
