February 1st!

We began Monday morning with flowers from Ford (and Winn Dixie) and Ford dropping Ginger off for her groomer appointment and making cole slaw to go with the ribs he is smoking today for dinner.
Dry Rub Recipes:
This was a recent post on Arnold Victor Reynard's obituary, 1.5 years after his passing. Worth noting:
"Here's to the tall ships, here's to the small ships"
"Here's to all the ships at sea"
"But the best ships are friendships"
So here's to you and me"
Here's to you my friend; may God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again.
And more sadness hit SJRPP: the passing of Jim Mays (age 80 - stroke) and Jim Bradford (age 74 - COVID).
We continue to unpack boxes of old cards, correspondence, found many letters from E-E (from 1980 - 2000; E-E died in December 2000).
Sent Mom a birthday card. She doesn't want any gifts (I already had ordered a small outside wrought iron bird feeder), she would like everyone to donate to their favorite charity.
Tuesday: Cold weather here and windy! low last night (this morning) was 38 degrees. Dinner was a repeat with ribs and cole slaw. Yummy again.
AA was worried about her AP geometry class as at the half  semester, a new teacher was assigned and they were doing a unit she did not have. She did get a 93 score, so she did well to catch up and teach herself. She has a few 100's too for homework and a quiz.
In the evening, after going to the library, we checked out a movie made by two British comedians (actors). After researching, The Trip to Greece, we found out that they did a movie in 2011 based on a British TV miniseries. The movie called the Trip, we purchased/rented on Amazon Prime. It was a constant dialog to irritate!
Ford posted on Facebook about AA watching Mickey Mouse before breakfast:
Wednesday: I went to the JEA NGS office for the day. Still cold, winter weather!
Thursday: Mom received her birthday gift of a wrought iron bird feeder; she asked us to do a good deed, donate to our favorite charity, take food to a food bank, etc. instead of a gift.
Ford made a new recipe, oatmeal with dried fruit breakfast casserole. AA and I liked it with Maine maple syrup!
AA had a golf lesson, and we sat on Talon's patio while she practiced. A little cool, high 50's and sunny.
Dinner was fish in Ford's new air fryer from Carolyn. The fish was really good! And Ford tasted his Christmas gifts of scotch: Thrones (from Werner) and Pinch (from me, loving wifey!):
Yummy fish!
We watched a DVD from the library, "One Million Dubliners", a documentary. It was okay, very interesting.
While it's nowhere near as famous as Paris's Pere Lachaise, Dublin's Glasnevin Cemetery, resting place of 1.5 million souls, has become one of the most popular attractions in Dublin for tourists and locals alike. Giving the place the feature-doc treatment in One Million Dubliners, Aoife Kelleher says a bit about everything here, from the dimensions of the burial plots to the operations of the onsite florist shop. While offering many lovely images and an appealing perspective on Dubliners' attitude toward their past, Stateside viewers who lack a healthy obsession with Irish history will tend to agree the material would have made a much better short than a feature.
Most of the film's charm owes to Shane MacThomais, author and the cemetery's resident historian, who spends his days giving entertaining tours of the grounds, telling ghost stories to schoolkids and joking about the damp cold to slow-moving older visitors. He's also the film's most engaging talking head, by a wide margin.
Friday: I worked on and off all day. Ford did the grocery shopping for the weekend including Super Bowl nachos! We enjoyed the leftover fish for lunch, warmed in the air fryer - still good! No dinner plans so ordered take out from Tijuana Flats and watched the PBS movie Anne of Green Gables (checked out from the library). It was part 1, Anne's first year at Green Gables.
Saturday: Sending out Valentine's Day cards (with Christmas thank-you's too). Very rainy, cold day! Hoping for warmer weather for her NFJG tournament tomorrow. We enjoyed our 5 p.m. Happy Hour Zoom. Meals were simple today, BLT's and Sweet Sensations Outlaw Chicken Salad. AA practiced with Coach Bryan for an hour.
We bought two new Spanish wines based on the ABC Liquor store recommendation:
We made a few origami hearts for Valentine's Day:
Happy Hour laughing!
I put a few Valentine (14th) and Chinese New Year (13th) decorations out:
And overnight to Sunday, we had severe thunderstorm and lightning:
