It's the Weekend Again - Looking Back on August 3rd - 7th

Another busy week with AA's usual golf practice and lessons:

The Tropical Storm that passed by us, it did make it to Maine and Mom's place lost power the day she was discharged from the hospital for her knee replacement surgery:

Our new political statement:

Heck Electric installed the transfer switch for our generator.
I spent Thursday evening at Carolyn's, the weather was very stormy with rain, thunder and lightning, we were only able to put our feet in the pool right before bed time. No swimming! Dinner was a new recipe of grilled chicken (we had to oven bake due to storm) with radishes, avocado, scallions, corn tortillas and cilantro:

Cooling off after the thunderstorm:

Tried the Blue Plate Chipotle Lime on the tacos, nice with a hint of spice.

Nephew Lane Below announced his new job and his text message below:

Mississippi Gulf Coast men's basketball coach Tim Ryan was looking for an assistant, one of his top characteristics was to find a grinder. He has added someone to his staff with a reputation for pushing himself to elevate his team, hiring Lane Below from Ole Miss as his lead assistant.

"I'm extremely excited," Below said. "It's been a dream of mine to coach college basketball, and I'm thankful and blessed to be at Gulf Coast. I'm excited to get going with Coach Ryan and get this program going."

Below (pronounced "Blue") is a former community college player. He arrives at Perkinston after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant Ole Miss, his alma mater. While on Kermit Davis' staff, he helped the Rebels reach the 2019 NCAA Tournament after reaching as high as No. 18 in the AP poll. The staff sent one player to the NBA and four were named All-SEC during those two seasons.

"When I was looking at hiring an assistant coach, the No. 1 thing I needed was a guy who would work his tail off," Ryan said. "Hiring during the pandemic is a little different, so I contacted several coaches who knew Lane. Everyone I contacted spoke highly of him and mentioned how hard he worked. I loved his enthusiasm and passion during our interviews. Lane has a can-do attitude and is willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. I look forward to working with him to build the program at Gulf Coast."

Friday evening we ordered from Hurricane Grill and Wings, a burger, fish tacos and shrimp tacos. It was fine, but probably will try something different next time, just wanted something other than from Talon's - our go to local favorite restaurant. The weekend is here!
