First Week of June Continues: Golf, Rain, Work, Last Day of 7th Grade and Fun!

Last week we learned that the Director of #NFJG was elected to the Florida Golf PGA Hall of Fame - Congrats to Jack! He's amazing with the youth golf program.

Tuesday was the next to last official school day for AA. She and Ford took Ginger to the groomers and then went to OPJH to pick up her yearbook. She is golfing daily and more of her new clubs are coming in. A friendly creature in their path:
The Father's Day gift we ordered arrived in the mail, AA dragged it into the guest bedroom. It's huge - now to figure out how to wrap it!
I was back to work, came home, ate dinner then AA and I hit the road again on our bikes - third day in a row. Unfortunately, we ran into too many other bikers and tons of small flying bugs! I didn't wear my sunglasses as we didn't start out until 8 PM, so my eyes took a beating. And my butt is still sore! (haha). We won't do that again! Wednesday, the official last day of school! Ford and AA went to her friend's family (Zheng) Chinese restaurant, ordered take out and AA and Angel (photo below) got to visit. They all wore masks and talked about robotics, happy to see each other. Ford didn't think to take a photo ....
We received lots of videos and photos from Liv and Dylan's virtual dance and tap recital.
Thursday: Ford had been looking for a new ClicGear Golf bag push cart as AA's is falling apart. Of course, can't find one on line for a reasonable price, seems there is a shortage! So he texted me that he was buying a tool to try to fix himself. Then he decided to ask our car mechanic! So Greg at Suburban saved the day! All fixed! And our new generator arrived, so we are once again ready for the next power outage, on a small scale.
We are just beginning our search for new bikes and of course, they are in short supply too! AA tried my bike, with a 26" frame and of course, it fits, she likes it. Her old bike is a 24". Now to find some we can actually buy!
The peaceful protests on injustice continues with less violence. There is only one race, the human race. So many wonderful stories to read on this progress, #BlackLivesMatter. And more on Politics! Love my home state, they are finally speaking up in a big way. Bill Nemitz: An open letter from Maine "to the president who isn’t. Donald Trump's looming visit to Piscataquis County, another in a long line of ego trips, cannot be over soon enough."
Friday, Ford and AA took a thank you note and Metro Diner Gift Card to Greg at Suburban. He saved the day fixing AA's push cart!
Saturday, I worked, while Ford and AA went to the post office and Walmart to pick up Ford's prescription (AA stays in the truck). Ford took "Last Day of 7th Grade School" photo.
School OPJH Yearbook and All A's Honor Roll! Congrats to AA!
We all "Zoomed" with our Happy Hour bunch at 5 p.m, had dinner at Talons and drank too much wine! Well, it was Happy!
We look pretty bad!!
AA at Talon's:
We also decided to buy a new generator, since the one we had for years was stolen a few years ago.
And Tropical Storm Cristobal is throwing out huge bands of rain, all the way to our area! AA and I did fit in a 20 minute bike ride during rain sprinkles after dinner Sunday. Still need new bikes!

A huge congrats to AA on all her accomplishments. Sounds like we are on the same page when it comes to everything covid and protest related! We are trying to adjust to the new normal when it comes to virus now too. It's hard though when so many people refuse to embrace a new normal and just want to go back to the way things were - even though the virus is still out there. Hang in there and stay safe!
