First Coast Women's Amateur - at JGCC

AA had a great practice round which did not continue during the tournament. We expected her to finish around 25th - middle of the pack. Her scores were a bit high on day one, but went even higher on day 2. Great learning experience, she met new young ladies, these are the best women in the state. AA was disappointed, the course played long, tough with hard greens. Ms. Penny was a committee member and helped organize from her home, many are still "sheltering" at home.

Friday Round 2: AA with Sarah Harpster and Kylie Turner:

Background information:
The last three champions (all active high school or college players) lead the list: defending champion Tori Mouton (Bolles), Lauren Waidner (Florida) and Ramya Meenakshisundaram (South Florida). Other past champions playing are Kim Goedecke (2002), Christina Steffen (1999) and Debbie Caruso (1993).
Adding to the depth of the field of 72 are defending Florida junior girls champion Kaitlyn Schroeder and other active college players Celeste Valinho (Virginia) and Sophie Membrino (Samford).
If that wasn’t enough, a strong contingent of players from outside the area are competing, led by two incoming University of Florida players, Maisie Filler of Palm Beach Gardens and Karoline Tuttle of Lake Mary. Also playing are last year’s Florida High School Class 3A champion Jacqueline Putrino of Bradenton (who beat Filler for the title) and future Florida State player Madison Hewlett of Oldsmar.
From Jack (NFJG): TORI MOUTON READY TO DEFEND JAGA WOMEN'S AMATEUR
Tori Mouton dominated the JAGA First Coast Women's Amateur in 2019 and is set to defend the title. Last season with the goal of getting more players in the field only a handful of NFJGTOUR Girls played in the event, but this year the word has spread and 17 juniors vie for the championship including four players from the NFJG TOUR receiving fully paid exemptions which include Lisa Colee, Ashley Huffman, Elizabeth Kondal and Alyzabeth Morgan.
The field is 78 players strong! Good Luck Ladies!
