OPE 6th Grade Reunion - Squad at the River House

We hosted 11 of AA's friends, all from her OPE 6th Grade class at the River House at 12:30 p.m. They now attend four different Jr. High Schools. Noah Witt was sick, the only one not able to come. It was a rainy morning, but cleared up by 1:00 p.m. and then the sun came out! By 3:00 p.m. we were sitting on the deck!
After eating Mellow Mushroom pizza, salad, pretzel/dough bites and sodas from the bar (Ms. Kelly P. was our bartender), the kids hung out together until there were too many separate groups and a few loners. So Mom Morgan herded them together to fill out the annual survey (a few different questions) and the paper airplane challenge. This year there were two outstanding airplanes, David Rafalski (who likes origami) and Eli Cobb - both soared their planes high and long. We tried the Oreo cookie challenge, and instead of the "minute to win" style, I had six do it first and get a winner, then the other six did it for a second winner. Eli Cobb was in the mix twice and got it done, but the others didn't get a second chance (oh well, I didn't notice). Over all I crowned three as winners: Owen, Tyler and Eli.

Left back row: Connor sitting on stool, Eli, Tyler, David, Dylan. Front: Ian, Hadi, AA, Owen, Lily with Jane on her back, Abbey.

Parents of the twins (Erin), Abby (Wendy), Ian, David sat for a while until about 3:30, then I scooted everyone out as many members were coming in. Jill picked up Jane, Lily and Connor.
We picked up the food and trash, then Hugh, Maureen, Kathy and Penny came over at 4:00 p.m. We enjoyed leftover wings and cheese pizza. It was a good day and AA thought all went well.
