NFJG Dr. Ira Classic Golf Tournament - Tied for Second Place!

Hyde Park Golf Club, June 12th and 13th, 2019: Second Place!

From Jack's Newsletter: With severe weather approaching from the west the field of 67 players hit the links with the vision in mind of becoming the 27th Dr. Gordon Ira Golf Classic Overall Champion. This two-day Web.com Junior Players Tour event is the only event on tour where all 18-hole competitors get to compete for the overall championship. All boys and girls ages 10-18 are eligible to seize the cup in this one. In all other events it’s boys and girls 13-18.

What an honor during round one as Billy Maxwell owner and PGA Member of Hyde Park Golf Club made an appearance for the event and luckily for us it was during a one-hour rain delay, so everyone had a chance to meet him. Billy Maxwell, a seven-time champion on the PGA TOUR stood Texas tall for a photo with the newest member of the NFJG TOUR Hole-in-one club Wolfgang Weiler who had just ACED the par-3 6th hole.
In the Rising Tour Girls Palm Valley’s Hannah Oberkehr (84) would not only have her best round ever in round one, but she would best that score by four strokes shooting an ecstatic round of 80 to top the leader-board with an eight stroke victory over Alyzabeth Morgan and Shanya Arusa. In a scorecard playoff, Arusa would edge out Morgan.
