Alyzabeth continues to play in the local PGA WEB.com sponsored golf series for kids 18 years old and under (NFJG). Her group, the Foundation Girls is pretty small. Today, there were four total, two regulars (Kaitlyn and Tylar) and a new 11 year old girl that plays around the Keystone Heights/Gainesville area. Her older sister plays in the regular Girls group.
AA was using a new heavier head on her driver (her Daddy picked up the day before), so needs more practice with it, as it was unusual for her to get off the middle of the fairway, which she did several times. I think she landed in sand bunker more today than all season! This sport is so temperamental (says someone who does not play!!!). Practicing:
All done!
Tylar very happy to place 1st! AA is happy with third place. She competes well for her size, but today had many strokes more for various reasons, but at least still in the 40's. AA jumped up on the bench to be as tall as the other two girls, but then they hopped up on it too! Next tournament is in two weeks. We have a weekend off!
From NFJG Director Jack: Our Foundation Girls is growing and welcome Candace Jackson from Keystone Heights, Florida. This week we had four in the field with Tylar Ann Whiting continuing her winning ways. One lone birdie would be plucked from the cup, but there were a bunch of pars for this up and coming group of players. Whiting would shoot a 4 over par 40 to take the Gold Medal, while four time champion Kaitlyn Schroeder would take the Silver. Congratulations to Kaitlyn Schroeder, as this week she will take on new challenges as she moves up to the Girls 13-18 Division. Alyzabeth Morgan had a great showing, as she fired a nice 47 to take a one stroke advantage over newcomer Candace Jackson to take home the Bronze Medal. Tournament by tournament the scoring average is going down for young Morgan and soon she will be a top contender! Mark my words!
