AA has been playing golf most every day. They went to Fleming Island Golf Course and liked it; hoping to get a better rate for youth. They also played at Eagle Harbor and ran into friends David Browning and Tim Ferchow. Said they had fun playing a few holes together.
We planted the herbs and pepper plants we bought last weekend (in the rain). They are doing well, plus many of the pea seeds are already popping up through the soil.
Basil, our favorite - we eat it faster than it grows!
I have been making refrigerator oatmeal breakfasts. So easy to stir a few ingredients together, put in a ball jar, refrigerate overnight and have a cool breakfast ready in the morning. When I wake up, I usually am hungry! AA wasn't very impressed with them even though I made a cocoa one. Here's the photo of one with strawberry, cocoa and honey. I also made maple syrup/blueberry oatmeal. I like them, and they keep a few days in the refrigerator.

AA swam in our unheated Club pool and said it was a bit cold, but she warmed up fast with her wetsuit on. I was at work, but Daddy took photos for proof! This week has been the first warm week, reaching 80+ degrees. I don't think I will be jumping in for another month!
This is sweet Grand #2 all in costume for her book report on Amelia Earhart (second grade). She did a wonderful job!
Another great family celebration happened this week when Lane Below (nephew, son of Kaci and Luke) was named SCAA basketball conference Player of the Year! Here's the link to read all about his accomplishments!
AA helped Daddy set up our canopy tent as I need it for OPUMC's outdoor Mission Fair on Sunday (tomorrow). I am going to represent the Children's Home and hand out brochures.
Blueberry Maple Refrigerator Oatmeal - 1 serving
This easy, no-cook "summer porridge" has make-ahead convenience and is packed with nutrition to get your day off to a healthy start. Make it in individual mason jars for a perfect serving size and an easy grab-and-go breakfast straight from the fridge (it's eaten cold). Take it along to work or anywhere. Great to serve on a breakfast or brunch buffet. High in protein, calcium, fiber; low in fat and sugar.
Ingredients
1/4 cup uncooked old fashioned rolled oats
1/3 cup skim milk
1/4 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
1-1/2 teaspoons dried chia seeds
2 teaspoons maple syrup (more or less to taste)
1/4 cup blueberries (or enough to fill jar)
In a half pint (1 cup) jar, add oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, and maple syrup. Put lid on jar and shake until well combined (I stirred in a bowl). Remove lid, add blueberries and stir until mixed throughout. Return lid to jar and refrigerate overnight or up to 2 days. Eat chilled.
