Summertime in Maine - Gardens, Outdoor Activities and County Fairs

We will be in Maine this summer and have been looking for lots of outdoor fun activities, mainly in southern to central Maine area. I was looking at the County Fair schedule and these are held in July. Have you been to any of these? We may pick one to go have some local fun!
We will miss the big ones I used to go to in my childhood in late September: Cumberland County Fair and the Fryeburg Fair.

We will go to the Maine Audubon’s Gisland Farms in Falmouth (65 acre sanctuary full of trails, an educational center and children’s discover room).

My cousin and I need to sign up for an outdoor class at L.L. Bean for our adventure this year; next on my list!
We will go to several must-see places around Portland like Two Lights State Park, Old Port, plus the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray and go to a Sea Dogs game (thanks Terri and George!); also will choose other places like going to Boothbay Harbor, white water rafting, Portland Theaters, the Maine Maritime Museum, L.L. Bean, the DeLorme Map store (and world globe) etc.
We actually want to stay mainly at my Mom's to enjoy family barbeques and the lake. What will you be doing in Maine this summer?

11-14	Ossipee Valley Fair @ South Hiram, Maine Old-fashion fair, unique exhibit halls, lots of livestock, midway, drag racing, animal pull events.
19-21	Waterford World's Fair @ North Waterford, Maine A small family oriented agricultural fair, featuring LOCAL vendors, entertainment and livestock. Old MacDonald's Barn full of animals to touch, outside stage with local talent, demonstrations & livestock exhibits
25-28	Pittston Fair @ Pittston, Maine Small, family-oriented country fair. Midway, animal pulling events, childrens games.
