Jekyll Island - Georgia Sea Turtle Center (March 23, 2013)

(A late post - March 2013) - While at Jekyll Island in March, we really enjoyed the Sea Turtle Center. If you are there, it is very interesting and a great way for children to learn about sea turtles  (www.georgiaseaturtlecenter.org) The tour begins with receiving a card that you mark at four different stations, showing the four stages in the life of a turtle. We spent over an hour reading and learning and it kept AA's attention the entire time. The sea turtle hospital in the back building was extraordinary. To see these turtles recovering and be able to see the medical personnel work on a turtle; very interesting!

One of the station to learn if you, as a turtle, lived and if so where migrated:

Turtle hospital:
This turtle was named "Caton"; which is my mother's maiden name - amazing!
AA loved being the Vet; she could select the diagnoses and watch the progress of a turtle's recovery:

It was a surprise as to enjoyment and learning experience; a great way to spend a rainy morning while waiting for her golf tournament to begin!
