April 13, 2013: We have always liked the Clay County Fair: lots to do with the main theme of agriculture and community pride; and it stays clean and seems "safe". There is always the midway with fun rides and games. This was our second day going to the Fair. AA has never seemed to like the rides, so this year she checked out the tamer ones again. We went on the Merry-Go-Round (carousel), the Ferris wheel and a kiddy tractor ride. She realized after she got on the tractor ride that it was too tame even for her. She likes riding the real pony ride (after our Livi, granddaughter #2 had a birthday party at a horse ranch) so that has been an annual event. We like the old Florida section which has grown over the years. More music this year. More demonstrations of old crafts like making cane syrup, pressing apples for cider, cooking beans and making cornbread, grinding cord for grits, blacksmith, weaving, honey production, gardening etc. This was also the first time we noticed the old Jail building.
Always a fun time. Next year we need to bring some of AA's friends so she can enjoy more fun and games (without her clingy parents having to do everything with her!).
Ferris wheel is fun!
The expansive views!

We bought some honey and cane syrup - both made locally and delicious!
