The Yellow Tree

Driving into our condo complex, we noticed flowering trees with large yellow flowers, almost like a crepe myrtle tree. Could it be a Tararindus?
What I like about it, is the dropping of the yellow petals in late September, early October. The yellow blanket on the grass seems to give me a start. In Florida, there is no changing of the leaves in the Fall, no leaf peeping for us! So to see the yellow petals dropping from these trees, looked colorful to me, especially when it is 82 degrees outside!

The tree truck is so different in that the same tree has trunks of smooth and rough bark.
So what is it?
