Anyone interested in becoming a Foster Family in the Orlando area, here is an opportunity to learn more. I can vouch for Children's Home that certifies the families and provides an unbelievable amount of training and support through the Children's Home resources. Hope you can attend:
We want to make sure everyone is aware of the event Open Hearts Orlando is putting on, Saturday May 28. We are hosting a “Q and A: Pondering Foster Care” gathering at the Orlando Public Library (3rd floor) beginning at 4:00 p.m. Lindsey and Rebecca will do a brief overview of the foster care process and we will show the 7 minute video about the Children’s Home. Then we will introduce the panel and give them a chance to briefly share, followed by open Q and A. We have assembled a great panel! On the panel will be Robert Drean (adoptions), Danny Dawson (family court judge), Ed Coty (foster father who has also adopted), a representative from the Foundation for Foster Children, a representative from CBC, and perhaps a former foster child. We hope to do these Q and As on a regular basis moving them around geographically.
Please help us publicize this event to all interested prospective foster parents. We’d love to have a great turnout! Thanks.
