It is often the little things that will break your heart and at the same time help to remind that what may be little for one - can be quite big for another...
I babysit two of my grands on Thursdays. After Leaa had returned home from work and we all had visited and finished our dinners, I asked Alyzabeth to go little potty as it was time for us to head home. I became aware after a short while that more time than usual had passed without her return. I excused myself and headed off to the bathroom to check on my little one.
And here is where my heart broke...
Sitting on the commode with tears welled in her eyes sat Alyzabeth. "I can't reach the paper" she said through small tears. She had been sitting there. Waiting for help. My help. I was crushed...
My gentle flower. My precious pearl, as spoken by her orphanage nannies, had patiently waited for me. How easily I think of my world as so big and complicated but when life events cause reflection, truth reveals my world as not the bigger. Not the more complicated or demanding...
I love you Alyzabeth An.
